Founded in 1977 by Joan Teats. Over 1,000 Junior golfers in the State of Washington,
the Idaho panhandle, and now Umatilla County Oregon!!

Open to players between the ages of 8 and 18. Scoring guidelines are
Boys 16-18 85, boys 14-15 90, Boys 12-13 100, Boys 8-11 60 for 9 holes. Girls 16-17 100, Girls 14-15 105, Girls 12-13 115, Girls 8-11 75 for 9 holes.

We are excited to formally announce that next year’s 49th WJGA State Championship will be in District 3 hosted by Longview Country Club and assisted by Three Rivers GC and Mint Valley GC from August 5-7, 2025! This will be our first WJGA State Championship held in Cowlitz County and we can’t wait for next summer!

Bravo gentlemen!! Bringing home the 3rd place medal. It’s been a good year for Washington teams. NPJL brings trophy home after a 6year drought, JAC and GJAC teams win 2nd and 3rd respectively and to finish off the year, Hogan Cup team comes in third!!

2024 State Championship registration is today at The Home Course! We open at 11:00 for all kids with tee prizes galore. Tonight is the Long Drive on the Driving Range! Congratz to all the kids who made it to State this year! Looks like an awesome week of weather too!!!

GJAC 2024 Team ready to go! We are competing this year at Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah. GO WASHINGTON! This event is VERY special for all and this year the boys JAC team is also competing on the same course at the same time!

Announcing the 2024 boys and girls Junior Americas Cup teams! Girls; Niuniu Zhao, Tatum Otto, Amanda Peng and Amber Li (missing) Boys, Ethan Schwan, Theodore Snyder, Walker Lamb and Jacob Kang. Both teams represent the State of Washington and will be playing at Soldier Hollow GC in Midway, Utah July 28-Aug 1! Congratz to all! 18 teams from the Western US, Canada and Mexico travel to Utah to compete in this very prestigious tournament.

2024 NPJL was conducted at Emerald Valley Golf and Resort in Creswell, Or. British Columbia, Washington and Oregon played stroke play for 2 days using the best 5 of 6 scores. Congratulations to Team Washington who prevailed by 3 strokes over British Columbia. Tatum Otto, Niuniu Zhao, Chanyoung Park, Melia Cerenzia, Berkley Ledesma and Carly Ikei represented Team Washington and brought home our trophy “Lucille”. Niuniu Zhao also win low individual and captured 4 AJGA stars in the process. Thank you to Oregon Golf Association and the golf course staff for hosting our girls at such an amazing facility. Lucille has returned after a 7 year absence because British Columbia has been on a roll!!

The final final result for trips to Junior World in San Diego this year, boys Conrad Chisman, Logan Medcalf, Alex Harwood and Brock Maulding. With the girls, a bit different as we had TWO girls playing for points only, Niuniu Zhao and Cienna Lee. Winning the trips were Tatum Otto, Chanyoung Park, Emma Wong and Berkley Ledesma. Congratz to all!

Another blustery day at Lakeland Village, but some excellent golf! Boys 12-13 had a sudden death playoff with Christian Harlow the winner after 3 holes. Thank you Jeremy, new head professional and hard working staff to make this day a memorable one for our juniors. Our green jacket WJGA rules officials are so very devoted, and teach the players as we play! Love golf, love kids, you might be a good volunteer fit for WJGA!

Well our kids know how to play in this weather! Henry Hsiao sank his 3 wood for a hole in one at Lakeland Village GC in Allyn! Thank you staff at Lakeland Village golf course for such a fun day even in this liquid sunshine we have!

2024 Western Open now in the books. Some blustery spring weather per usual, but we soldiered on! The home of the Western Open - Capital City Golf Course!!! Thank you all! Winners this year shown below. The unique thing that happened this year was the boys and girls both had sudden death playoffs! Finally.... after 11 holes and 3 holes respectively, both divisions were declared co-champions. Walker Lamb and Jacob Kang win boys and Niuniu Zhao and Emma Wong for the girls! Congratz to all!
In addition, the 2024 NPJL team was announced and honored with their team golf bags! Tatum Otto, Niuniu Zhao, Chanyoung Park, Melia Cerenzia, Berkley Ledesma and Carly Ikei.

WJGA honors Mike Peluso at our annual meeting this year! 45 years of service to this mission for junior golfers. Can’t say enough about his contributions, the recruitment program for rules officials and their training as well. We are so blessed! Thank you forever Mike!!

The 47th Washington Junior, Golf Association state championship is in the books! Thank you so much to Moses Lake golf course, The Links at Moses pointe, and Lakeview golf and country club for hosting 252 of Washington’s finest Junior golfers. Overall winners are Ben Wilson, and Angela Zhang —- congrats to them and to all the junior golfers who played this past week  at the state championship. You are the best in the state!

With fast greens and long yardage, Nk’Mip Canyon Golf course in BC was the host of the 46th GIRLS JUNIOR AMERICAS CUP! On tribal lands and with time honored native energy, a very special treat for all 18 teams. Our Washington team finished in solid third place!!! A very heart felt thank you to Tyler Torrieri and the CJGA for the tons of time and energy put into running this event for 72 girls. 
The necks of Angela Zhang, Amber Li, Audrey Park, and Chanyoung Park will be adorned with third place medals in 2023!!

Our Story

Since starting in 1977, WJGA has grown from 500 to over 1000 members and are recognized nationally as one of the best in the country. We are a competitive golf tournament association for kids between the ages of 8 and 18. Out scoring guidelines are;
Boys 16-18 85, boys 14-15 90, Boys 12-13 100, Boys 8-11 60 for 9 holes.
Girls 16-18 100, Girls 14-15 105, Girls 12-13 115, Girls 8-11 75 for 9 holes.

We have an all volunteer Board of Directors, have 501 c 3 status, and our tournaments are run strictly by volunteers. We are funded by businesses, individuals and the golfing community in our State. In 2018, WJGA is 42 years old and thriving!
