Even 30 years after being diagnosed with childhood cancer, the survivors were found to be at 20% increased risk for sleep problems as compared to those with no childhood cancers. These were the findings of a study presented at Sleep 2023.
This study looked at the presence of sleep problems in childhood cancer survivors.
The findings revealed that the rates of sleep issues remained alarmingly high among this group. These sleep concerns reported by survivors included insomnia in 40%, snoring, concerns about sleep quality, increased utilization of sleep medications, etc.
