TKA 101: Jumping into Junior High
Last week, our campus was a buzz with our TKA 101 course taught by Ms. Miller and Mr. Kingsolver. In the course our sixth-grade students enjoyed learning about campus life, classes and schedules, and how to make new friends heading into their first year of middle school. Plus a tour of the campus with information about classes and need-to-know spots. In sixth grade land, they even played bonding games.
Our new knights are set up for success on the first day of school and beyond!
ALL NEW PARENTS: Please join us for light refreshments and an orientation to TKA. Refreshments will begin in the Main Quad at 6:00 p.m., followed by a program at 7:00 p.m.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS: Program in the W building.
Our main gym's floor has been transformed this summer. The King's Academy Athletics looks forward to having many games this school year with our shiny new floor. More school improvements to come. Stay tuned!

A highlight from Finals Week:
The French Honor Society decided to bless students with free French treats, to encourage them during finals and spread some love and French culture with macarons, croissants, palmiers, and other sweets.
And everyone getting something learned how to say thank you in French, MERCI !!
A highlight of Finals Week for our Sevvies:
In social studies, the students picked any cultural/historical topic from anywhere in the world, set between the 300s and 1700s, and created a project that taught others about that topic.
Many created models, made foods or designed posters to show the results of their research.

Yesterday, our 6th Grade Open House was full of fun! Families enjoyed a program introducing them to our 6th grade teachers, junior high principal, and admissions director.
Then, the student representatives guided families to the 6th grade classrooms and quad. At the quad, there were games, department booths, and ice cream. Be a knight!

At TKA, the "Sixer" experience is special and memorable. 6th graders are adored by the other students on campus. They are especially mentored and loved by the seniors, who give them a special welcome each fall. All of the core 6th grade classrooms are located together, and there is a play area nearby. Finally, they are taught and mentored daily by a core of experienced 6th grade teachers who are dedicated to this age group. While our 6th graders have many exclusive activities for the purpose of bonding with their class, they soon become very much a part of the whole school's spiritual life and co-curricular activities and experiences.
Join us for our 6th Grade Open House this Thursday, June 6, at 4:00 p.m. We will provide an overview of our academic, spiritual life, athletics, and visual and performing arts programs. The program includes a tour of the 6th grade area. After the formal program, you will have an opportunity to ask our teachers and staff your questions. Enjoy games and complimentary ice cream. Plus, prospective students will receive a free Knights t-shirt!

Memorial Day:
Remember & Honor those brave men and women who have served our country.
The King's Academy was excited to honor our 8th grade students at the Promotion Ceremony. This event is called a "Promotion Ceremony" to recognize a milestone which is uniquely important but does not confer a degree to the students, as does a graduation ceremony. The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is a tradition at TKA and includes student speakers, student performances, and an address by a staff speaker. Students were called individually onto the stage to receive a certificate.
Congratulations to the class of 2028!
We know parents want more than anything for their students to feel they belong at their school. Students feel cared for at The King's Academy. In today’s society, the stakes are high for parents who desire to raise students who are not only academically prepared but who have a strong moral compass and a sense of purpose. A critical choice is the environment in which your student will spend 35-50 plus hours per week. Your 6th grade student will be mentored and cared for for the next 7 years at The King's Academy, which serves grades 6-12.

Monday: Snack UP! Snack and beverage items were available for staff all day.
Tuesday: Lift UP! Staff had a chance to stroll down “Appreciation Alley” in words of encouragement, appreciation, and thankfulness from numerous TKA families.
Wednesday: Fill UP! The staff enjoyed a catered lunch.
Thursday: Fuel UP! A coffee cart provided a boost of caffeine.
Friday: Put Your Feet UP! Each staff member received a take-home meal from Dish n Dash.
We are so grateful to the parents for blessing the faculty and staff so generously and thoughtfully!
"One word I would use to describe TKA is intentional. There's a lot of heart and love on this campus, and everything is done with intent and purpose." (Stacey Reed, VPA Lead & Dance Teacher). All of the teachers and staff at TKA are Christ followers who answered a calling to serve and mentor the young people on our campus. Although The King's Academy places a high value on academic excellence, it differs from other schools in that everything at TKA is designed to bring students closer to God, create strong relationships between students and staff, and build Christian servant leaders. Come and see the difference for yourself!
