I will be facilitating this Bible study through Hope First Pregnancy Center, beginning Nov. 8. No matter what circumstances led a woman to terminate a pregnancy, no matter how much time has gone by since, many women suffer from post-abortive stress, grief, depression, etc.. Many struggle with this, and it’s a difficult cycle to break.

NO is a perfectly reasonable and appropriate answer.

So is “It just won’t work for our family at this time.” Or “Thank you for considering us, but we’re keeping it simple this school year.” Or “This sounds like a wonderful opportunity, but I just can’t give it the attention it deserves right now.”

There are just so many lovely and respectful ways to say NO.

But notice, I didn’t say NO followed by a list of excuses. Or NO followed by hanging around to make sure that person isn’t mad at you. Or NO followed by something you’ll do instead to make up for any disappointment you might have caused.

Just…NO.

Sometimes it’s a NO for now. Sometimes it’s a NO for this season. And sometimes it’s a NO forever because you have absolutely no interest or desire or skill set.

Whatever the reason…

Give your kindest, politest, firmest NO. And free yourself of all the second-guessing and guilt.

Then proceed with your life’s current YES ❤

He knows what to do next.
He knows how to comfort you.

It is so important that we don’t allow our thoughts to control us. 2 Corinthians 10:5, tells us we are to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” A verse helpful in gaining control in this area, which is also easy to memorize is Philippians 4:8.

Do we “invest” as much time and money in preparing for a lasting marriage as we do the wedding ceremony?

I received the sweetest gift from a client today💕. This is a painting done by her 3 year-old daughter attached to this scripture card, to serve as a reminder and encouragement, that although I see and work with the client face-to-face, the effects of the “work” overflow into both of their lives. Such a treasure…
