🌱I hope your summer has been going well—I know mine has been fantastic so far! Over the past year, I've had the privilege of working with so many of you through Stark Wellness, helping to improve your health through nutrition and lifestyle changes. 🥩 Zinc is a mineral. It is hard to name a body process or body structure that isn’t affected either directly or indirectly by zinc. It is estimated that between 50-200 enzymes need zinc to function. These functions include DNA and RNA synthesis, alcohol metabolism, protein metabolism, antioxidant defenses, immune function and acid/base balance.
Food sources include: steamed oysters, steak, peanuts, pot roast, wheat germ and plain yogurt. The recommended daily intake of zinc is 11mg per day for men and 8 mg per day for women. A 3-4 oz serving of red meat contains 5-8 mg of zinc to put that into perspective. 🥜

Recipe of the Week! A great recipe but I would recommend swapping the short ribs for a leaner roast like a sirloin roast. I usually double the mushrooms as well for extra veggies. Serve with a green side salad.

A balance of cardiovascular training and strength training are essential for long-term health. Keep those muscles and heart strong!
Aim for near equal amounts of each every week. And yes, you could do them both in the same session.
Do you keep a good balance of both? Comment below!

Choose any cardio method you like; I chose running. This method is 4 minutes of exercise at the highest intensity you can maintain followed by 3-4 minutes of a recovery/low intensity. Repeat so you do 4 of the high intensity intervals.

🥬 Magnesium is a mineral. There are a variety of forms of magnesium available in dietary supplements which can each have their own desired effects. Within our body, magnesium is involved in over 300 enzyme reactions, including energy production, DNA synthesis and RNA synthesis. It also assists with calcium metabolism, is important for nerve and heart function, insulin release and supports a health blood pressure.
Food sources include: green leafy veggies like spinach, squash, wheat germ, navy beans, peanut butter, plain yogurt, broccoli and bananas. The recommended daily amount is 400mg per day for men and 310 mg per day for women. It can cause diarrhea if taken in large supplemental dosages 🥜

Recipe of the Week! Easy to make recipe that is pretty tasty.
