Dear Friend,
This is our last update and farewell to you; Luna Salon and Spa is officially going out of business and closing its doors for the last time at 4 pm on Saturday, March 2nd 2024!

The new tenant and owner of MAUDE Salon and Spa, Penny Henderson, will assume our salon space and be open and ready for business as of Tuesday March 5th!

It has been our great honor to work with our incredible staff, and to serve our wonderful clients, as well as the greater Sylvania/Toledo community for these past 28 years! La
Luna Salon and Spa has left an indelible imprint in our hearts and minds that will remain for the duration of our lives. Thank you to everyone for your kindness, generosity,
friendship, and devoted loyal support over these many years; we are forever grateful!

We would like to wish Penny Henderson all the very best in her new role as owner of MAUDE Salon and Spa and the newest merchant member of the Promenade Shops!

We wish you every happiness, joy and good health in boundless measure. We will hold you all in our hearts as we move forward and turn the page to this new chapter of our
lives.

How do you say goodbye to a career you love and have passionately cultivated for well over a span of four decades? Though many of us would love to be the eternally youthful energetic hard-working fabulous Dolly Parton, who says she never has plans to retire, the prospect of retirement is an inevitably for most of us! And though I adore and admire Ms. Dolly and her “I’m never going stop” mantra, the time has come for me to press the pause button in order to give myself a chance to breathe and pave my new path of retirement.

My career has most importantly been founded upon fostering incredible connections with the most extraordinary human beings like you. For me, connecting with people, one person at a time, during a salon color or haircut service, has been a lovely and joyful benefit. It has indeed been time well spent. I will cherish our conversations and confidences shared, and vow to keep and protect them until I am but quiet dust! I will miss those conversations and you!

I don't know where this new fork in the road will lead, but as the unique late baseball great and national treasure, Yogi Berra once said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." Well, who am I to question that logic!

So, as I leave the salon for a new chapter in my life, I want to thank you with a profotmdly grateful heart for all the loyal support, love, kindness, and generosity you have extended to me throughout these many years. John and I have been very blessed. My prayer for you and yours is that you may always have everything you need whenever you need it.

Well we are excited to share this update on what is currently happening with La Luna Salon and Spa! In our last letter we told you of our intention to retire, with the goal of gratefully closing our beloved La Luna's doors eventually, once our landlord found a suitable tenant to assume our salon space. However, something truly wonderful and unexpected has happened ...

We are so pleased to announce Penny Henderson, who has been a loyal salon guest of La Luna for 27 of the 28 years we have been in business, is thrilled to be taking over the space and the salon business, starting Monday, March 4th!

Penny is an RN who decided to embark upon a new venture in her life. She has always loved AVEDA products, and the high service standards, comfort and tranquility La Luna has consistently provided throughout the years, and was saddened at the thought of its doors closing.

Shana Fry will join Penny in managing the salon, bringing in new additional experienced service providers and day makers! Shana has been a highly trained successful hair stylist for 20+ years with salon management experience specializing in high-end exceptional service salons, as well as, a stylist trainer!

Penny and Shana will continue featuring the AVEDA products you have come to love, and plan to add a few other exciting things. A team of additional experienced stylists and nail techs will be joining our current staff. Several new salon and spa services will be added. There will be a few aesthetic changes made to the salon's interior that will begin in the next several months. Their goal is to preserve the essence and spirit of what Penny came to appreciate about her La Luna salon experiences, a place to relax, rejuvenate and unwind, in a warm, welcoming, pristine, safe and professional environment.

This new salon will also have a new name, MAUDE SALON AND SPA. They are excited for you to experience the new salon, and truly look forward to welcoming you into their new salon home!

This beautiful prayer incased in glass was a gift from my dear friend Jude Downing when we expanded our salon space from 1100 Sq. Ft into a 3000 Sq. Ft in Dec. 2003 thru Jan. 2004. I have always cherished it, and have certainly through the years aspired to live by St. Francis' wise guidance. Most people don't even realize it is in the salon entrance area, yet everyone walks past it as they make their way through our expansive retail space. It has served as a quiet blessing to all who walk through our door🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
