At the upcoming April 6th event, you’ll have a chance to choose a Chinese herbal tea formula that best fits your stress type.
The intention for the event is to down-regulate the nervous system, aka chill and fight stress. 🥊
So in addition to relaxing atmospheric live music by and acupuncture (which is optional btw!), we’ve chosen 5 formulas that are incredibly good for different stress patterns that present in Eastern medicine.
When you get in on the day, you’ll be able to check in and see how you’ve been feeling that week, and pick the formula you most resonate with. We prepare the tea for you, and you kick back.
… until then, take a look above and see which of these formulas matches how stress presents in you.
… CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER! 🥷
Tickets to the event are available by following the link in the bio, and clicking on the banner at the top of the homepage at ACU585.com

Had a few questions come in about seating for the upcoming event at the clinic. If you want to feel floaty 🧑🚀 we’ll have 14 zero gravity chairs set up. If you want to feel grounded 🧘 we’ll also have 6 stations on the floor (memory foam base, blankets, some pillows and bolsters).
You choose, first come first serve!
We’ll be opening up the doors around 12:15. That will give you plenty of time to get in, choose your Eastern stress-buster tea formula and start to relax before starts at 1:00.
We’ll have a house-made mini Dolby Atmos Surround Sound / sound bath session running in the studio system before and after the performance. So you can come in get settled and start chilling with the soundscapes the moment you get there, and even a little after if you feel so inclined.
Tickets are now available at Eventbrite via the link in the bio! Click the header at ACU585.com to get you there.
Hope to see you April 6th!
Fun morning at the clinic! Thanks to everyone who came out to be a part of it. Catch the story next Tuesday A.M. on 🎥 📺
Anyone up for a free acupuncture session next Thursday? Spectrum News will be coming by to do a segment on the clinic, we’d love some volunteers!
We’re looking for 5-6 people to get a session in the community room. Your only role is to hang out and get a nice acu treatment. 😌
We’ll have the surround sound fired up and the usual vibes set, the only difference is there will be a camera in the room for a couple minutes while you’re relaxing. You might not even know they’re there.
We’re looking at a timeframe of 10-11:30 or so — if you’ve got some free time and are up for it, shoot us a message!
Had a request for purple today in the community room. Purple it is. 💜
Small Business Appreciation Day is just about fully booked! There are still a handful of spots left in the afternoon. Get in for a free session — you work hard and keep this community vibrant. 👊

It’s actually amazing. How’s it work?
A couple ways:
• Acu helps balance the nervous system, promoting harmony between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the CNS. This balance is key for optimal digestion, reducing stress-related digestive issues.
Especially during the holidays — stress can wreak havoc on digestion. Acu helps induce a state of relaxation, mitigating the impact of stress on your digestive system. Eat and digest in peace 😌
• In Classical Chinese Medicine, good digestion is linked to the smooth flow of Qi and balanced patterns. Acupuncture facilitates this flow, ensuring your digestive organs are in sync and functioning optimally.
• Acupuncture tones the vagus nerve, a key player in the gut-brain connection. This can enhance digestion, reduce inflammation, and even improve nutrient absorption.
• Rather than just addressing symptoms, acupuncture looks at the root causes of digestive issues. By promoting overall balance in the body, it can help support lasting digestive wellness.
Acu for digestion is most beneficial when it’s a regular part of your gut health program, but certainly can play a roll through the holidays! Private or community sessions are great options this.
Community spots still open this week: Wed (12-6) and Saturday (10-3).

It’s really real. The ball is officially rolling for 501c3 nonprofit status and opening of the ACU 585 community acupuncture clinic. ❤️
That 501c3 status may still take a little while - lots of lawyers, paperwork and waiting. But we’re going to start operating as such anyway as soon as October.
We’re currently working hard on getting the new space set: painting, laying flooring, mounting speakers and lights, running wires, etc. A lot of late nights and weekends, but it’s coming along. We’ll open pre-booking as soon as we have a solid date in mind, with any luck we’ll have a clear idea in the next week or so. Hours will open on Wednesdays and Saturdays and gradually expand as we get through the holidays into the new year.
Aside from affordable acupuncture, some of the defining features we’re really excited about:
• Immersive Sound + Light
(intentional, original, tranquil soundscape compositions in Dolby Atmos surround sound, synced with lighting)
• Super comfortable therapy tables
• Semi-private partitioned spaces
• Unique events w/ special guests
(yoga + acu, qi gong, mindfulness, live immersive sound performances and more)
We’ll get into all the fun details soon, but for now, we just wanted to share the good news!!
Many of you know we’ve been working toward this for a long time. Thanks to everyone who’s been a part of the journey so far. 👊

One of the magical things about a new space is seeing things in a new light, literally.
WE’VE MOVED! Don’t worry, hardly a stone’s throw. Come in the same entrance and instead of taking a right, take a left into Suite 235.
This shift will bring us a more spacious waiting room, additional treatment rooms, a room dedicated to pelvic steams and LED light therapy, and a larger lower level for events (qi gong, mindfulness, yoga), immersive spatial sound and light experiences with , and regular weekly community acupuncture hours.
We’ve been working super hard cleaning, painting and decorating to get the space ready — some finishing touches to do on the lower level, but the upper level is ready to roll — can’t wait for you to see it! (will post some pictures of the progress soon 😊)
What is "Yin Yang"? In Western culture the symbol has almost become a caricature of itself as the poster child of "opposites". It's actually quite a bit more than that, in fact, it's everything.
In the world of Classical Chinese Medicine, Yin and Yang aren't just opposites – they're the harmonious forces that shape our existence. 🌗 These two dynamic principles represent the dance between opposites, revealing how contrasting, complimentary elements are intrinsically and eternally interconnected.
☯ The Subtle Essences
Yin embodies qualities like darkness, coldness, and receptivity. It's the essence of the moon's soft glow and the stillness of night. Within us, Yin manifests as fluids, blood, and nurturing aspects. 🌙
☯ The Dynamic Forces
Yang is all about warmth, movement, and activity. It's the energy of the sun and the vitality of day. In our bodies, Yang governs metabolism, energy, and circulation. ☀️
☯ The Heart of Health
Health in Classical Chinese Medicine is about balance between Yin and Yang. ⚖️ Illness arises when this equilibrium is disrupted. What is too much Yang? Think fever and restlessness. Too much Yin? Coldness and fatigue might appear.
☯ Yin-Yang Interaction
Yin and Yang are in constant flux – like the sun and moon. Their interaction creates the rhythm of life. In harmony, they create health. In imbalance, they lead to dis-ease.
☯ Five Phases
While it gets complex, in simple terms —Yin and Yang can be found within Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. For example, Wood grows with Yang's energy, while Metal contracts with Yin's calm.
☯ Microcosm + Macrocosm
Beyond the body, Yin and Yang influence emotions, relationships, and our surroundings. A balanced life resonates with their dance, fostering emotional equilibrium, harmonious connections, and a mindful environment. It's a life that feels natural, abundant and flowing.
☯ Dance of Dualities
In CCM, Yin and Yang form the heartbeat of life's harmony. Balancing these forces is the key to well-being, guiding us to align with the universe's essence. 🌟
Coming Soon ...
Exciting Update — most of you already know sound is foundational in my approach to the healing arts — as is making everything I offer as accessible as possible.
In the next few weeks I'll be opening up this unique combination of therapies (sound + acu) on a more regular basis. It's been fun to do isolated events, but I'm ready to make this a regular thing.
What's that mean exactly?
First of all ... DOLBY ATMOS
All classes, events and community acupuncture sessions at the clinic will be immersive.
That means being surrounded by speakers on the walls, even in the ceiling, and most certainly on the floor. You won't just hear the sound from every angle, you'll feel it deeply in your cells.
COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE
I'll be opening regular community acu hours starting with blocks on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Still have to shore up the exact hours, but we'll start Wed + Sat and see where it goes.
SOUND WRITTEN FOR THE ROOM
Over the last year, I've gone deeply into the world of Dolby Atmos surround sound production. It's magic.
I'll be presenting unique soundscapes for the room that are fully immersive and soothing. Sound will be moving gently all around you, also synched with light.
Picture the room taking deep breaths of sound and light. The space will feel calm and alive.
LIVE SOUND BATHS
We'll be having live performances in Dolby Atmos surround sound as well, collaborating w/ special guests from the Rochester area. More on this soon, but suffice it to say, I'm super excited about these happening on a more regular basis. 😁
QI GONG + MINDFULNESS + YOGA
We'll also be launching regular events incorporating all this immersive surround sound + light into these events as well.
STAY TUNED
Keep an eye here or sign up for email updates via the ACU585.com website for an official launch date.
We're working out a few last minute technical pieces, but we'll be opening up pre-booking SOON.
Thanks to everybody who's been on this musical healing arts journey with me - can't wait to share the rest of it with you as it continues to unfold.
