Metal Morphosis Jewelry Studio
Transform bits of metal and wire into something beautiful in our metalsmithing/jewelry classes!
Metalsmithing, spinner rings, Sterling silver jewelry, learn to solder
Our next Date Night is Coming up on August 30th!
Enjoy light refreshments while you learn how to measure, cut, file, form, solder, polish and hammer a sterling silver ring to wear home (couples sometimes make a ring for each other to make it more meaningfulš and some have been known to use them as their wedding bands too!)
We have openings in our Spinner Ring class on Sunday, July 28th from 10am-2pm! Come and spend a few hours learning something new-I think you will be impressed by what you will walk away with. Sign up right on our website.
It was a beautiful night for making sterling silver cuffs at Crazy Daisies! Weāll be back again on September 24th to do it again if youād like to give it a try!
Itās Show Time! Come and see us at the Gem Show in the Center of Progress Building at the NYS Fairgrounds!
The Curbside Festival in Skaneateles starts today! Pop in to Papavero and get welded with that new anklet or bracelet youāve been wanting! Abby will be there today and tomorrow 10-3!
One is good but Iām loving four! We have appointments available tomorrow in the studio and weāll be welding inside Papavero in Skaneateles during the Curbside Festival this week! Weāll be there Thursday-Saturday 10-3 with a bunch of new chains for you to choose from!
Weāll be there with a BIG booth selling tools and supplies + showing off the work of 5 of our wonderfully talented students! Come and see us and stock up on those stones that will need setting š
Gem & Mineral Society of Syracuse Gem & Mineral Society of Syracuse, NY
Pick your stone or bring your own, plan your design, spend a few hours soldering, refining and setting your stone so you can wear it home and be proud to say you made it yourself (with a little help from your friends over here at Metal Morphosis š)
More from summer camp! Our first day was texture and dimension; Day 2 Color: inks, patinas and enameling; Day 3: Upcycling: casting and melting metal to reuse. Students got really into enamel techniques and inks as you can see here. Lots of creative time!
Itās been a week of creative experimentation over here in our summer camp for adults and today people are finishing up some projects including enameling using a silk screening method (right) and adding turquoise beads to add that extra something (left). More photos coming soon!
We are all set up Crazy Daisies with Jewelry and welding! We will be here until 4:00. Come on out and see us and enjoy the live music and fun refreshments!
As you may know, our studio assistant Maggie graduated from ESF and is now out exploring the world!
You all know how much I will miss her and although she is irreplaceable, I am thrilled to say I have found 2 new welders/teachers to take over some of her responsibilities.
Some of you already know Josh Price who has been teaching our casting classes. He will now be welding permanent jewelry and teaching some studio classes.
We are also welcoming Abigail Minicozzi who will be teaching and welding as well.
Abigail has a background in enameling and glasswork from SU and I am so excited about the potential of new classes to come!
I had the pleasure of teaching these aspiring metalsmiths this week, including Baylee-age 9 and my youngest student so far. She said āIāve wanted to make jewelry ever since I was little!ā Atta girl.
Ooh lala! Canāt wait to dive into Nicole Ringgold Jewelry Designs book after class tonight!
We are so excited to be back at Crazy Daisies on June 15th! I am so proud to be introducing the work of one of our students at the show, Marie Stevenson of Soul and Solder Studio.
Marie is on the rise as an up and coming Silversmith-I so love her vibe and I think you will too!
Iāll also be selling my work and we will have a Permanent Jewelry welding as well, so come and get linked with that certain someone in your life!
Iām up to 4 permanent jewelry bracelets now and think I might need anotherš¤·āāļø they look SOOO good stacked-Iāve been getting tons of compliments!
Julie Manion made these super fun earrings in our enameling class yesterday! We covered a few different techniques including sgrafitto, enamel paints and the one Julie so nicely demonstrates here-using lump enamel. I love the effect!
Itās official!!! I now pronounce that we help couples make their own wedding bands! Iāve been secretly doing this for years, but itās time I expanded on this lovely experience so more couples can enjoy it. You can now find all of the details over on our website!
We just added THREE classes to the June calendar that are under $50 which is one heluva deal if you ask me. They are each a lovely intro into working with metal, hammers, torches-you know, all the good things in life. Pop on over to our website and have a peek.
Even if you've never picked up a hammer or a torch. Even if you feel you're "not creative". Even if you're afraid it won't be perfect...if you've ever had a desire to try your hand at jewelry making, then you belong here.
Many of our first time students have never made ANYTHING like this before and leave with a big smile, walking a little taller and ready to show the world "DAMN, look what I just did."
If you're curious, we have 3 ways to try your hand at jewelry making this week: Spinner ring making on 5/30, Bezel set earrings on 6/1 and Torch-fired enameling on 6/2.
āIāve always wanted to make jewelry! This is like a dream come true!ā-our student Julie from class today. She came with her brother Jeff and they had a grand time making spinner rings together.
If youāve always wanted to try making jewelry from sheet metal and wire-take a look at the classes we have coming up on our website for this spring and fall!
We are shaking things up this summer with a new set of metalsmithing classes we can't wait to roll out! People on our mailing list will be the first to know and have first dibs. You can join our list right on our website .com
Just finished up these sodalite earrings just in time for Motherās Dayš you can pick them up in our Syracuse studio this week. Message me for details.

The Studio
Syracuse now has a Metalsmith Studio where you can learn jewelry making?!?! Yes, we do!
The Studio is a place to explore. You donāt need to know what youāre doing, you donāt have to consider yourself āCreativeā. Just come with your curiosity and desire to try something new. Join us for a Metalsmith Class or let us help you plan your own Jewelry Making Party. You may just find a new interest you never knew you had.
We work from raw materials like sheet metal and wire and transform it by heating it, hammering it, forming it, twisting it, embossing it, sprinkling enamel on it-so many techniques to learn itās hard to choose just one! As one of my students said āThis is the real deal!ā Weāre here to show you the potential that hides in the metal, that just needs a bit of patient guidance, to reveal its unique beauty.
Join us for a class today!
