This upgrade will transform Ferrante Hall into a cutting-edge facility for the School of Health, Wellness & Human Services, creating an inspiring space for students and faculty.

Congratulations to Miss Prissy's Restaurant on the groundbreaking of their first standalone location! Dwyer Architectural is excited to welcome Audrey Farrell and Kathryn Doyle, AIA to our Rochester office!

Audrey recently graduated from SUNY Alfred State College with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Audrey has been a part of our Dwyer team as an intern during school breaks for the past 2 years, and we are thrilled that she is continuing her career in architecture with us!

Kathryn joins our team with 14 years of professional design experience in a variety of markets, including K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Commercial. She is a licensed architect in both New York and Pennsylvania and is a asbestos Project Designer. We are excited to have Kathryn on our growing Dwyer team!

Our Rochester Interiors team attended Moxie’s Lighting and Controls exposition on Canandaigua lake. This provided the team with the opportunity to expand their knowledge on lighting possibilities and designing for WELL Building Standards.

Congratulations to the Dwyer Team on receiving the 2024 CSI - Rochester, NY Chapter Design-Bid-Build Award for the University of Rochester Imaging Sciences Interventional Radiology Suite Phase 2c renovation at Strong Memorial Hospital.

This award recognizes exceptional teamwork and quality of contract documents leading to successful project outcomes. Dwyer and the design team were challenged to deliver a fully renovated, state of the art Interventional Radiology department while maintaining a fully functional facility. The team identified 5 major construction project phases, each designed and constructed as separate projects over 11 years. Each phase contained its own “mini phases” to keep the facility running smoothly, efficiently, and safe for patients and staff.

Such complexity requires an outstanding team. Thank you, Lizardos Engineering Associates, Jensen/BRV Engineering, Ravi Engineering, and Holdsworth Klimowski Construction for the top-notch coordination and collaboration!

Work is wrapping up on several suites in a New Medical Office Building in Utica for Mohawk Valley Health System! Dwyer designed the fit out of a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center, a Retail Pharmacy, and a Radiology Suite equipped with the latest technology for patient care. Each suite was designed with patient comfort and staff efficiency in mind.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an amazing event at Onondaga Community College: the Ferrante Hall Renovation Project Open House!

Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to:
🔨 Explore the architectural plans gaining insight into months of careful collaboration.
🎨 Marvel at photos of innovative opportunities and possibilities, sparking inspiration and imagination.
📚 Discuss learning environments that will soon become home to countless students on their educational journey.

🪑 Test furniture providing valuable feedback on comfort, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.

Students will visit FOUR Architecture firms in downtown Syracuse and learn what it’s like to work in a practice within our community!

Recently, a few members of our staff participated in a 3-day event series mentoring the Environmental & Interior Design students! We were able to engage with students through Q&A discussion, collaborative design charrette and portfolio reviews. Thank you for having us!

Dwyer Architectural is excited to welcome Alexis Salamino as our newest Architectural Designer to our Syracuse office! Alexis recently graduated from University at Buffalo with a Master of Architecture (2023).

Alexis has been a part of our Dwyer team as an intern during school breaks for the past 4 years, and we are thrilled that she is continuing her career in architecture with us!

Congratulations to Northeast College of Health Sciences in Seneca Falls on the opening of the new Imaging Sciences wing in their Anatomy Center, which includes the unveiling of a cutting-edge radiography and sonography technology suite. Dwyer is proud to design a space that will provide an educational setting for both programs that replicates the real-life medical imaging scenarios students will encounter as x-ray and ultrasound technicians.

We are excited to kick off the renovation of Ferrante Hall for the School of Health, Wellness and Human Services at Onondaga Community College.
We had so much fun facilitating a project visioning workshop. Together we created a common goal for the project that is based on input from all stakeholders.
We will use this to guide design decisions throughout the project. We are truly inspired!

Our staff from both offices came together this weekend for a post-holiday 2023 celebration! Cheers to all we have to look forward to in 2024.

Congratulations to the University of Rochester on the opening of their renovated imaging science suite at their Strong West campus. The project was constructed in 3 phases over the course of eighteen months.

The 5,700 sf space includes CT and MRI equipment replacement and room renovations, 4 private pre/post patient rooms, as well as open work area for staff that is separate from patient flow. The suite also includes a centralized nurses’ station for patient visibility, and reorganization of registration and waiting for better patient privacy and staff safety.

A unique challenge in this project was renovating a space that had original exterior walls plus 2 other additions added at different times all coming together in the same area. This required us to design around multiple types of construction materials and methods. We are always up for a good challenge!
