Hi! We are Julia (left) and Skylar (right). We met on the first day of sixth grade and since then have played basketball together, collaborated on many group projects, and became best friends along the way. We attended the same high school and eventually the same college. During a global business class, we were tasked to create a business that solves a problem and donate the proceeds to charity. Skylar had the idea to collect glass off of local beaches and use the pieces to make accessories. In the end, over $300 were donated to a charity that works to preserve marine life and beaches. Everyone we talked to loved the idea of cleaning local beaches. After the 15 week class, we decided to continue the business and make sustainable beach glass necklaces.
