Employee Highlight 👀

The newest sales consultant at Tacoma Pre-Owned Super Center feels right back at home at the Dinsmore Auto Group.

Gary Jackson, who previously worked for the Dinsmore Auto Group in years past, accepted a Sales Consultant position with the Tacoma Pre-Owned Super Center in April of 2023. Jackson possesses six years of automotive sales experience.

“It felt really natural, and it seems like I never left,” Jackson said of his triumphant return to the company. “I’m working with a lot of the same guys as before, so it was a really easy transition for me.”

Jackson is the definition of a self-starter. He isn’t the kind of person who needs to be motivated by outside forces. His intrinsic motivation is on display the moment he walks through the door and begins his shift.

“Every day I come in and I feel like I’m going to sell a car. It is one of those things where you constantly have to keep a positive outlook and mindset. That has worked for me over the years so I tend to stick with it,” he said.

Recently, we had the opportunity to ask Jackson questions about his life away from work.

Tacoma Pre-Owned Super Center: What is your favorite restaurant in the area?

Gary Jackson: Hands down, it is El Gaucho (steakhouse). The hospitality, ambience and the food is amazing. It is just my kind of place.

TPO: Who is the most famous celebrity you have ever met face to face?

GJ: Roy Jones Jr. (professional boxer). I met him at the Sugar Shane Mosely/Oscar De La Hoya fight in Las Vegas.

TPO: If you could pick one person to go to dinner with, who would it be?

GJ: Warren Buffett (famous businessman). He is a money guru and it would be great to just pick his brain. I think that would be awesome experience.

Employee Highlight 👀

Photographers are universally known for their passion and creativity.

They’re visual artists and their finished products reflect their astute creative minds. South Tacoma Mazda/Tacoma Pre-Owned Super Center inventory photographer Lisa Moody completely exemplifies this ideology.

Moody, who joined the Dinsmore Auto Group in February of 2023, is a self-taught photographer with plenty of experience in the business.

“I never went to school for it, but I have done a lot of hands-on training. I did a lot of underwater photography in the past. I was even the photographer for underwater weddings and marriages,” Moody said. “It was pretty exciting. When I saw this (job opportunity) come up, I knew I could do this.”

Moody not only is a photography expert, she’s an avid car enthusiast. During her high school years, she thoroughly enjoyed detailing vehicles. Her dad also bought new vehicles seemingly every few years.

“My dad was one of those guys who would get 30,000 miles on a car and he would have to buy a new one. I love taking pictures of the cars and making them look as good as possible for our customers. I enjoy being my own boss because I’m self-motivated,” Moody said.

Recently we had an opportunity to ask Moody questions about her life away from work.

South Tacoma Mazda: What is your dream vacation spot?

Lisa Moody: Alaska. I like being around wildlife.

STM: If you could pick one person to go to dinner with, who would it be?

LM: Chuck Yeager (famous pilot).
