The entire time we were out there, we couldn't help but think how the entire place looked and felt like a different planet. There is salt as far as the eye can see in all directions once you get out there. Students—How Would You Like to Design Library Cards?

If you are a student, ages 5-11 or ages 12-18 and live or attend school in Pierce County, you could be the designer of the next Pierce County Library System's library cards! Show your creativity and create the next library cards for people to use throughout Pierce County. The free design contest runs now through Friday, April 13.

Pick up entry forms at any Pierce County Library or online at cardcontest.pcls.us. Submit entry forms with your library card design to a Pierce County Library or by mail to Library Card Contest, Pierce County Library System, 3005 112th St. E., Tacoma, WA 98446-2215.

Professional artists will review entries and select finalists for the two age categories. The public will select the winners from the finalists by voting online later this year.

The child and teen-designed library cards will be available for free, in addition to other designs the Library offers. The student-designed cards are expected to be available starting in October 2018.
