Cantero Cigar Club

A sneak peek at the “almost set in stone” future home of Cantero Cigar Club. We found this beautiful space a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love. With 2700 sq/ft, high ceilings, tons of natural light, an almost brand new HVAC system, and a loft for shared work space / private events /corporate gatherings, we couldn’t be happier! We have been meeting with contractors on site over the past couple of weeks and are very excited to start work to turn our vision for CCC into a reality. If all goes well with the buildout, we have a goal of opening up before the end of the year!

It is the mission and vision of the Cantero board to create a culture that is focused on hospitality, community, and camaraderie between our patrons. As founding partners and board directors, our goal is to create as safe and engaging a space as possible for our members and their guests.

Ci**rs are the great equalizer, which is a very well known and commonly respected reality of this community. We understand that our members are all coming from different cultures, communities, and walks of life… However, we hope that the “love of the leaf” will create a bond that transcends these differences. We’ve seen this time and time again within the cigar industry, and will push for this to be the case as hard as possible at Cantero Cigar Club.

So what does Cantero mean?

This is a term for a seedbed, the part of a farm where cigar to***co seedlings are grown. These are also known as canteros. Traditionally, seedbeds were planted directly in the ground, and they still are in some areas of the world, but now many to***co seeds are planted in trays and/or on raised beds, or within greenhouses. This provides protection from the elements. To***co farmers often grow far more seedlings than they need, and the extra seedlings can be used in case portions of a farm need to be replanted due to extreme weather or other unforeseen setbacks in growing.

Here at the Cantero Cigar Club, we want the concept of “planting seeds” to be an integral part of our culture. As members interact and bond over their love for ci**rs, life will be shared, and in turn seeds will be planted. We feel like this was our main goal when founding CCC, and hope to see the fruit of what’s invested into this club flourish as these relationships are established.

So how will we carry out this vision?

Cantero is registered as a 501(c)(7) non profit organization, which is a status specific to social clubs and recreation organizations. In compliance with federal & state law, Cantero will not serve or sell alcohol, will not serve food, and will not sell to***co or to***co-related products. Cantero is a high-end, private members-only club which offers no service (implied or otherwise) and functions autonomously without employees. We are a member friendly club dedicated to ci**rs, open to both female and male members and guests who are at least 21 years of age. Members will be issued a lounge access card that gives them unrestricted access to the space, and they will have a locker to store their personal items to be used on site. Member dues and any ticket sales for events we host will be our only form of revenue. Other membership benefits include but are not limited to; private meeting spaces, banquet hall, WiFi and TVs, a kitchen, pool table and shuffleboard, and the ability to bring in approved guests.
