On Monday, July 29th we will be closing early & reopening at our usual hours on Tuesday, July 30th.

Our crew has been working overtime to sling the best food & drinks on the Thea Foss and we are taking this time to give them a bit of a break.

Hey everyone! Please know that the fire on Dock Street early this morning was NOT our building nor the Seaport Museum next door! Our understanding is that it was the old Seascout building under the bridge nearbouts that as far as we know was vacant for the last several years. We'll take 10 degrees cooler, it's going to be a brisk 87 today and we'll be open normal hours and full menu! Shout out to our kitchen crew because the full menu was their call, they the real MVPs!! We’ve decided not to torture our employees by making them work in this heat. Our kitchen staff and equipment work really hard to keep it together back there in the summer as it gets insanely hot but days like today are just toooooo much 🔥. Thanks for understanding and we’ll see you tomorrow!!!

Lantern Paddle for Species

Get out those LEDs – and if you have one, a kayak or paddleboard. On Friday, June 28, Tacomans will light up the Thea Foss Waterway with the annual Lantern Paddle for Species event, a part of Tacoma Ocean Fest 2024.

With FREE shoreside/inside entertainment from 7-10p, lantern-making workshop, FREE light art and paddle launch at 9p, the event isn’t just a cool excuse to rig up lights on your paddlecraft or wave them on land.

You’ll also be helping create a magical twilight moment, celebrating all threatened species – like our own orcas and salmon – and reminding our world what we need to do to protect them from pollution, climate change and extinction.

WHERE: Foss Waterway Seaport, 705 Dock St, Tacoma
PARKING: paid at Republic lot north of Seaport, free on street
LAUNCH: Launch your SUP or kayak from the Seaport’s ramp and dock, or float down from Thea’s Park just north.

7-10p: Museum open for free with hands-on marine science and a sneak peek at this year’s Ocean Fest art. Food vendors outside and bar with signature cocktails available to purchase inside. Plus, DJ Special K 🎶

7-8p: PLU Steel Pan Ensemble. Make your own glowing ocean-themed DIY lantern inside the museum education area, led by artist Cheryl Rux.

7-9p: Vuelta La Luna circus entertainment

9-10p: Paddle launch from FWS dock or Thea’s Park, and circle in front of Seaport. Wear/bring lights and/or watch on land.

Please stay safe. Wear a lifejacket and know your water limits. Human paddlecraft only, please. Beginners: Stay inside the protected water area beside the dock.

NOTE: Paddling is done entirely at your own risk! We take no responsibility for your safety on the water. If in doubt, stay on land.

Oceanfest this weekend! Our neighbors at the Seaport museum put the most magical events together ❤️ Come see the boats!

NEW this year, join us on the dock for free and donation based boat tours to celebrate the ocean! We will host the historic tug “Chippewa”, the Washington State tall ship “Lady Washington”, marine spill response boat “Plover”, historic mail boat “Tarry Knot”, a marine patrol boat from Communities for a Healthy Bay, and the Sea Scout/Charter vessel “Doolin Rogers”. The “Tarry Knot” will run a shuttle on the waterway, some vessels will offer tours at the dock, others will offer free cruises on the bay!

We LOVE having one of our crew name dropped in a 5 star review and Caitlin is an absolute treasure to be sure! Our front of house team love what they do and it shows! Our back of house is behind the curtains and I'd like to shout them out as well! When you see that amazing football play where the receiver runs the ball back almost the entire length of the field to score the game winning touchdown, everyone showers them with adoration, and it's well deserved! But watch the replay......did you catch that block? Or that one? Or the one that most definitely would changed the outcome right there? Our entire crew are doing that every day for each other to make these reviews a reality! Shout out to everyone in the kitchen making game winning plays who's names you may not know~
