We gotta say this one is for the bucket list, being featured in our own city on one of the most well circulated publications from the area is a major win for the eTc team. As we approach our 9 year anniversary we are doing all we can to be outside and engaged, letting people know that as we get older we don’t plan on slowing the pace. But sometimes you have to let the people speak for you and they did. For the second time in a row we were voted Best Men’s Clothing. It’s a great feeling to be singled out by South Sound Magazine as one of the best, it not only validates the work we do but our supporters as well. Our audience are word of mouth marketing magicians, opportunities come to us because people vouch for our authenticity and quality. It’s the organic flow of our It Takes A Village ideology. We also have to give a huge shout out to Josh Dunn for supporting us the way he has and being comfortable in believing in our dreams.

Tacoma Farmers Market has received directive from Point Ruston Owners Association to discontinue selling any “Mexican style food” at our Sunday market. Unfortunately, this directive will affect our and Burrito Boy vendors this week. We have responded to PROA and are attempting to negotiate a solution. TFM had no part in this decision and directive, but must comply while trying to reach a mutual agreement with PROA.

We are deeply saddened by this abrupt news and apologize to the vendors and small businesses owners this affects as well as our market community that seeks out their food offerings at our Sunday Market at Point Ruston. We are doing our best to represent and advocate for the small businesses owners and vendors that we host at our market!

Point Ruston Update:
7-27-22

We acknowledge the real hurt, harm and confusion our vendor announcement last Sunday caused in our community over the weekend, especially to the affected vendors. Tacoma Farmers Market (TFM) made a decision based on the information and directive we had at the time. We are heartened by the statement made by Point Ruston that El Güero Birria Tacos and Burrito Boy can return to the Sunday Market. We have invited the vendors to return to our market starting Sunday, July 31, 2022. TFM is continuing to move forward and is pursuing working with the Point Ruston Owners Association on solutions and policies that meet our goals of supporting small businesses and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

Since its first market in the spring of 1990 Tacoma Farmers Market has flourished because of its community support. That community of vendors, shoppers, supporters, volunteers, and government and business partners is what makes each market day a special event. Thank you for holding us accountable and centering our vendors.
