The concept of being photographed is such an intimate and vulnerable thing. We allow someone behind the curtain to capture our bodies and sometimes emotions. It’s something I don’t take lightly and feel sincerely grateful every time I pick up my camera.

Today I had an amazing opportunity to speak to a mom’s group about how to have the best session experience, what kind of clothes to wear to your photos, and how to take photos of your own kids. I haven’t spoken to a large group of people in A LONG TIME and holy moley I was so nervous! It’s one thing bring in front of a group of kids, it’s a completely different experience speaking to a room of peers. But they were kind and supportive and asked some great questions. It’s funny how my adrenaline shot up the moment I picked up the mic. Lol. I hope I was able to help share some good how-tos and they feel more confident when getting photos taken and taking their own kids’ photos.

It’s officially wedding planning season! Congrats to A & R for getting engaged last year! I loved doing their engagement photos at a few favorite spots around Tacoma and their home. We even included Bruce the pup and Frida their cat. 😍

These small, intimate weddings filled my cup in ways I didn’t even realize. I love doing couples portraits so much.
