Reflecting on our recent third annual Overdose Awareness Health Sovereignty event, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who joined us in making it a resounding success. From our esteemed keynote speaker to our dedicated volunteers and supportive vendors, we extend our heartfelt thanks for contributing to the triumph of this event. The atmosphere at Tahoma Indian Center (TIC) was electric as we commenced our Overdose Awareness Health Sovereignty day. The day began with a mouthwatering salmon bake, filling the air with the aroma of tradition and community. As attendees indulged in this delicious feast, they were treated to a vibrant display of art, showcasing the creative expressions of our community members. Rose Island Farm, with their wealth of knowledge, enlightened us about the healing properties of herbal teas and the transformative power of accudetox. Their presence added a touch of natural wisdom to the event, reminding us of the importance of holistic approaches to wellness. The Tacoma Pierce County Health Department played a pivotal role in our event, providing invaluable information and resources to raise awareness about overdose prevention and harm reduction.
