They may already be pushing winter holidays on you at the grocery store, but horror season isn’t over until we say it’s over (never 😤). Here are a few more dark fiction staff faves you can pick up at the shop today and all year-round.
Don’t sleep on our rotating new poetry display!
Some incredible collections and anthologies published in recent months, including Tacoma author Rick Barot’s ‘Moving the Bones’ which is out today. We’re looking forward to hosting him this winter for an author event at the shop. And, don’t forget the upcoming launch of ‘Voices of Tacoma’ this Thurs 10/17 at 7pm featuring readings from several local poets!
🔮✨There’s witches in the air!✨🔮
Lots of new arrivals at the shop in witchcraft, divination, and Samhain season delights. Stay tuned for October fiction recs for all levels fright tolerance. 😈
Creative Colloquy Crawl is TOMORROW 10/1 and King’s Books is over the moon to host not one, but two stellar events! ✨
At 6pm, join us for Drag Story Time. The magnificent & will do readings, with performances to follow. This reading is all-ages, family-friendly fun!
Then at 7pm, don’t miss Untold: Fairytales Reimagined. Fairytales are embedded in cultures all over the world. These are the stories that have existed for so long we tend to minimize their importance, take them for granted, and even scoff at their quaintness. But these tales contain timeless truths that transcend generations. To get to their sweet and strange cores, we have to fracture the narrative. Our readers will lead us through fanciful reinventions that may stray from familiar paths but will bring us all home to the ever-after.
Check out the full CCC lineup or at CreativeColloquy.com

Your teen cousin whose Spotify Wrapped is both intimidating and inspirational. Your neighbor whose kitchen always smells delicious. The coworker you know next to nothing about except that they are vegan and have good taste in office supplies. And don’t forget a cozy read for you, too. You deserve it.
