Railroad Square Art District has experienced some of the most widespread destruction from the unprecedented May 10th tornados, which are believed to have brought the highest recorded wind speeds in Tallahasee’s history. Railroad Square management is working every day, morning 'til night, to respond to an unprecedented natural disaster. What some don’t realize is that we are a very small business with only a handful of team members, trying to manage the herculean task of responding to this enormous crisis. We know you have lots of questions about what’s going on with your beloved Art District, and we will try to provide updates in between working with contractors, helping our tenants, meeting with Commissioners, and trying to ensure public safety. Today, we’ll start by addressing this question: “IS RAILROAD SQUARE REALLY DESTROYED?!” The answer is this: SOME of Railroad Square’s buildings really are destroyed beyond repair. Thankfully, however, other Railroad Square buildings have experienced only very minor damage and should be up-and-running again very soon. Finally, there are numerous other buildings within Railroad Square that fall somewhere in-between, and it is going to take some time to determine which of those spaces can be saved. The good news is that we have already been able to make PROGRESS on the recovery! Some buildings were tarped yesterday before the rain came, trees are being removed, debris is being picked up. We plan to keep you up to date on Railroad Square’s recovery process, and we know you look forward to being here to support your favorite creative entrepreneurs as soon as possible. @tallyprintstudio had another unforgettable evening with their magical autumn equinox market held on September 22nd at @artdistrictcollective ! 🍁✨ The night was filled with excitement: from pop-up haircutting by the talented @twofacedhope, to mesmerizing tarot readings courtesy of @dark.divine.fem. Art vendors showcased their incredible creations, and the performances by @saturnalia.fl, @sleepybugmusic, and @professionalbusinessmanfl kept the energy high. Plus, the live screen printing workshop added a creative touch to the event! 🎨🎤👚 Thanks to your generosity, @tallyprintstudio raised funds for a great cause.
