Got this news earlier today!!!! Y’all’s nephew MADE THE DEAN’S LIST!!!!! He was 1 point shy last semester and was determined to make it this semester!

Let me add, he worked TWO jobs and was working for the on-campus student run PR firm as a class!!

Today is a special day! It’s my baby’s 19th BIRTHDAY!!!

He’s so simple, all he wanted to do today was get coffee and a cinnamon roll at GroundOps Roastery + Bakehouse!

Yesterday he wanted to go to the gun range at Tallahassee Indoor Shooting Range, Alec was amazing helping us with this M1 Grand. We had a ball!

I’m so proud of the young man he’s becoming! Thanks to all of his auntie and uncles on here for being part of his journey!

Food makes me happy and so does my son being home! Si requested some fried chicken gizzards, y’all know I had to cook him some! DONE!

I was inspired by a local bbq stand here in Tallahassee E&J 5 Buck BBQ to make some bbq turkey sliders for my husband for all these football games! My lil brother made me a smoked Turkey for thanksgiving - he was determined to do this! 🤣🤣🤣 I have to give him props, it was REALLY GOOD and smokey! I chopped it all up, added some honey bbq and let it bake for about 30 minutes!! Also made some coleslaw with Chic-fil-A Zesty apple cider vinegarette dressing (I don’t like the regular coleslaw) to top it off! 

It was all so yummy in my tummy!!!

I think I brought home literally a whole turkey, including fried turkey! I know I plan to make a pot pie and some Turkey and rice or noodle soup!

What other leftover ideas do y’all have??

New coffee shop and pastries alert for Tallahassee folks!

Ok, months ago I posted about my coworker who bakes! Chris Smith recently retired from the Sheriff’s Office and FINALLY opened GroundOps Roastery + Bakehouse in Midtown Tallahassee about a month ago! If you’ve followed his story, this has been in the making for a while! He used to bring in treats to the office and always made sure I got to sample them!

Si made me promise to hold off going until he got home - we always do weekends at a local coffee place as a family!

Everything was amazing! The coffee was smooth, not a bitter aftertaste! I got this large NITRO with almond milk and cookie butter syrup! My eyes are wide open, but I’m not jittery at all!

The cinnamon rolls, divine as usual and the s’mores roll - 🤯🤯🤯 the flavors are great and not sugar overload! Not sure how to describe it!

To-go, we also got two versions of their signature hello cakes, red velvet and the original! It’s my first time trying both - whoa! You gotta try it - it’s a nice gooey textured almost the consistency of a brownie! I was skeptical about the red velvet one- BUT THEY NAILED IT! If you like red velvet cheesecake brownies - this is a pefect alternative if you don’t like the cheesecake flavor! And, did I mention the sweetness level??? None of them are too sweet, however on the bad side - I’m tempted to eat it all in one setting because of that! 🤣

We also got the banana pudding to-go! They offer two kinds: classic and Oreo - definitely their own unique recipe and off the chain!!!

It was so good to catch up with Chris and hear about all the success and challenges of being a small business owner. I admire his dedication and commitment and I’m so excited for all the things he wants to do to help other people succeed and learn from his experiences! I’m not shocked at all to hear him say this though-Chris is just that type of guy! I think this is what makes it so easy to support him and his family!

If you get a chance, stop by and visit! They have savory pastries too, like bacon egg and cheese rolls! - 20 AG SMACKS!!!!! 💋
