Everyone knows that - at long last - is coming home this weekend! 💕 🎶

And in honor of the return of "The Tallahassee Hero," we've come up with a SPECIAL Cocktail, which will be available starting today at 4 pm when our doors reopen. 😋

What all is in it? How did we come up with it? And what EPIC name did we give it?!?

We'll tell ya all that at 4 pm!

Our new sour is TAPPED! 💪

Proof Blackberry-Raspberry Sour (6%) is now on tap as of 4 pm today when our doors reopened - and we are pretty darn happy with how this latest fruited sour experiment came out!

This new sour is as vibrant in color as it is tart. We poured lots of fresh blackberries and raspberries in untll it had a deep purple/ruby-red hue, reflecting the rich berry infusion. On the nose, look for a burst of fresh, juicy berry aromas. But on the taste, expect a slight mouth-puckering sourness from our award-winning sour base, combined with the natural sweetness and complexity of the berries. The finish is clean and dry, with lingering berry flavors that leave you wanting another sip - and another. 😋

Is this post beer-related?

Not exactly.

But do we want to give a shoutout to a local author because she's the mother of one of our most-valued Proof staffers?

Absolutely!

Sharon Kant-Rauch - who is Proof head brewer David Kant-Rauch's mom ❤️ - was a police reporter for four years and then a columnist at the Tallahassee Democrat after that. She wrote eloquently and frankly about social issues, and about faith and spirituality when she held those roles, but now she's moved on to fictional mystery novels - set right here in Tallahassee.

And Sharon just released her first such book - "One Precious Life" - and the launch party for the novel will be Saturday from 3-4 pm at local bookstore Midtown Reader.

Democrat columnist Mary Ann Lindley wrote a terrific review of the book this week ahead of the launch party, and here's an excerpt:

This is one of the OG craft beer events in Tallahassee's long craft beer history - and we are so excited to be involved in it along with so many other fellow local breweries and our talented homebrewer community.

We were sad when it went away a few years ago after such a long run, and it's really exciting to not only see it come back, but to incorporate the local breweries alongside the homebrewers as well. We promise to brew up something super special for it! 🍻

It's not often we'll close the doors all day on a weekend for a private event, but we've had one on the books now for quite some time - and their party is this weekend! 🥳
