We enjoyed the August Membership Luncheon and Affilitate vs Realtor Chili Cookoff! There were so many awesome entries and it was hard to choose just one “crowd favorite!” We had chicken chili(all different,) chili with no beans, hot chili, chili with ribeye, filet mignon, and brisket in it, and some that tasted like the chili I grew up with. Great job to everyone that entered the event! Plus the names of the chili’s were hilarious! Check out the voting sheet to see who the winners were! It was great to ramp up our meetings again with this event. After the tastings, we had a great luncheon from which was yum! That strawberry cobbler-we could have devoured the whole pan! The cooler weather this morning made us long for Fall! .realtor won one of the centerpieces for a door prize! Maybe she can keep it alive! 😂

So what do you do when you need to make sure you’re utilizing social media for your business to the max? You hire someone! Thanks to .agency for spending the morning with us! They for sure made sure each one of us had our questions answered and provided hands on learning experiences. He for sure had his work cut out for him today! This morning wrapped up the 1st round of small group sessions for the Tallapoosa Downtown Master Plan that Toole Design is working on. I was especially thankful to see a Greater Haralson Chamber of Commerce
Jr. Chamber Member in attendance today! Braelyn contributed and gave her input and vision for what her age group would like to see in our area. It was refreshing to see someone still in school attend. Their opinion matters as well. They are our future!

So excited for this day to happen! We are so blessed to be able to host our office for all those who are interested in great things to happen in downtown Tallapoosa. We hope to see a good crowd for tonight’s community meeting. Toole Design seems to understand our little city with a big heart❤️

We were so excited that we had special guests today at our office! The Tallapoosa Primary School 2nd graders did a walking field trip in downtown and our office was on their places to stop by and visit. We opened combo boxes, Supra boxes, learned about buyers vs sellers, how to visit a lender, and what makes a house a home. They left with popcorn and smiles! Thanks for stopping by!

John Hunt with MarketNSight was phenomenal with his presentation on a Housing Market Update. His insight was on point with a lot of Realtors in the room. One slide shows a book that’s informative with how zoning was created. Our areas could still be utilizing an antiquated system with residential zoning. The people looking for houses today are not the same dynamic as years ago. It’s a little scary!

Today’s luncheon for the West Metro Board of Realtors was inspiring and eye opening. Latoya Gamble shared her journey with being homeless. She turned that experience into a testimony for others. Her calling is to help others and to pay it forward. I heard a statistic the other day that said most Americans are only two paychecks away from becoming homeless. Home is your safe space. It should be your place of comfort. We will never take it for granted that our calling is to help open the door to home ownership or to help close that chapter and guide them to start a new one.
