Casement windows are my favorite functional window for a few reasons. They let in more daylight and airflow than any other operable window with the least amount of visual obstruction. I'm a huge fan of these windows in black as it accentuates the contrast between the frames and the outdoors!

Obscure glass is translucent - often used in bathrooms or places people want privacy in. A really great advantage to it is that it allows natural light in, without being transparent!

There are many options for decorative bars for your windows and doors! Every manufacturer has different options but there are two different kinds.

1. GBG - Grids between glass. These are often thinner (13/16") and are in between the two panes of glass (pictured). I like them because they have a modern look and don't require any cleaning, since they are not exposed to the elements.
2. SDL - Simulated divided lites. These are often a bit thicker and are on the exterior of the glass panes. The advantage of these is that they can be taken off later without replacing glass, as long as there are no 'shadow bars' between the glass.
