-Magpie feather with copper cuff and shiny gypsy beads: In the badlands of the old west the magpie earned the reputation of a swift and expedient daredevil. Magpie can be called upon as a trusted guide--knows every trail and every forgotten lost trail as well as the secrets of the deep mysterious river canyons, springs, and precious resources these lands hold. Magpie has an affinity for treasure, and in this way the Magpie knows the places of silver and gold waiting in the rivers and streams, in the mountains and open fields. Magpie, the winged dancer of the skies, teaches us about the balance of light and dark. The meaning of the magpie is about creative expression. It urges you to listen not just for listening’s sake, but to listen to what is being communicated with you with more attention. The magpie spirit animal is also drawn to anything shiny or flashy, so this is also a reminder to quit chasing false beliefs and ideas. Stop going after desires that are unsuitable for you and putting material desires above everything else.
