I recently had a chance encounter with a guy at a Post Office on another case. Once he found out I was a PI he asked for my card and asked if I locate people. His girlfriend was adopted and wanted to try to find her relatives.

She called me a few days later and was able to provide some minimal information. I was able to get some information and passed it along to her a few days after that.

I just received this text from her:

Thanks for your help. I found my family.

I love doing what I do!!! To help others in search of some peace and finding something important to them. Vary gratifying to assist this young woman.

PDK Investigations has formed a PDK forALZ team in this Saturday's Walk to End Alzheimer's event in downtown Tampa. This disease has hit my family hard effecting my mother Mary Catherine Lee (the greatest woman on earth) and my wife Kim's Grandmother Olive Biggins. The early signs of Alzheimer's present in various ways. For my mom, she was a bit of a talker, her stories seemed to go on and on in a circle until something or someone could get her back on track. The she began to lose her way with various task and errands around town. We had her babysitting before she was diagnosed babysitting just before Kristine 1st birthday. Mom could not remember which way it was to Devin's favorite Dunkin Donuts. At just 2 years old Devin was able to correctly guide my mom to and from our house. It is this little type of effect that leads to for some a total shut down of many bodily functions and communication capability.

It takes a toll of the families, most of whom try to be care givers if they can. The Alzheimer's Association provide support services for caregivers and the families affected by this disease in addition to funding the research to find a cure.

FDLE: Pasco couple scammed elderly employer out of $480,000, My partner MP and I have worked on this case for a few years. Happy to see that it has led to an arrest. Whether stealing from an employer or a family member- Stealing is Stealing!!!!!

I had a great day at Lake Magdelene Elementary School for Great American Teach In with my former Teaching buds and friends Nikki Koza-Cantwell and Jessica Iredale-Gainer. These photos from Iredale-Gainer 4th Graders. I fielded some great questions from this bright group of kids. They get it and are lucky to have such great teachers as these two fine ladies!!!!

Big and busy day today. Working on a case that involves a Film Production Crew from Ireland. Not the usual day at PDK being filmed and interviewed while coordinating an inmate release and court processing. A critical witness on an important case that has been an ongoing investigation over the past several months. It will be interesting to see it all play out in the next day or so.

We finished up a case this week in which we protected a client's assets. This is our 3rd recent case in which an elderly client has been taken advantage of by either family members or subject's who have maneuvered into our client's life. These subject's have taken advantage of them by outright stealing or deception of the elderly getting into the circle of trust or gaining confidence then manipulating our clients to gain access to the financial assets, accounts or possessions.

We were able to stop the theft for this client!!!! Much to the delight and comfort of our client. Unfortunately on some of our others cases we were a too late to help stop the theft before it occurred to the detriment of other surviving family members and the surviving spouse. Please watch out for our senior family members and friends, be mindful of their activities, guard their life savings and assets or let it be known to those with the ability to act. Sometimes the wolf comes from within. If something does not look right or seem right is usually isn't right.

Traveling overseas the past week with the family for the #1 item on the bucket list to Ireland. Would like to thank Mike Powers, Tom Beckman, Janice Watson and Suzanne DeIregno-Cohen and John Shultz for pinch hitting for me during my absence. I am extremely grateful for your assistance and friendship. We have developed a 3 pillared approach for our daily approach to business. 1. Gratitude- expressing gratitude to our customers, clients and people we deal with daily. 2. Compassion- showing compassion in our daily interactions and 3. Being Considerate of everyone. We believe these 3 pillars will follow any faith people subscribe to or not, common decency had been in short supply recently. We strive to provide a positive customer experience for all our clientele.

We are involved in a variety of cases on a weekly basis. Pre-Employment background checks, Adoption Searches, Insurance Surveillance and Missing Person searches have been recent cases. We work hard and uncover all possible leads to obtain our clients objective. Never a dull moment. We enjoy finding the truth. The truth does matter!!

I really appreciate my customers. Not everyone in my professional cares about there customers the way I feel about mine. As we approach Mother's Day, I feel I must give the majority of the credit of who I have become personally and professionally to my mother!!! She will be gone 4 years this coming November and there is not a day goes by that I do not talk to her, think about her or wonder what she would be like had she not been affected by Alzheimer's. I love and miss you Mom!!! Thank you for everything you did and did not do for me as I was being raised. I could not have asked for a better wife and mother for our 2 wonderful kids than my lovely wife Kim!!! I am not sure how 1 guy can be so blessed but I will take it. Happy Mother's Day Kim!!!!! We will do our best to make it a special day for you!!!!!

Surveillance overload the past few weeks. This is the 4th consecutive Friday night Surveillance. Strange being on one surveillance and seeing the subject from a previous years surveillance out at the same club. Had another situation earlier where girlfriend of another surveillance target and a neighbor were standing around my vehicle (as I was parked in a guest space) talking about my vehicle being parked there. They of course didn't know I was in my vehicle, could hear everything they were saying due to window tint and windshield screen. Hiding in plain sight. They went inside moments later so I could reposition successfully!!!!

Up at 3am this morning taking care of and getting caught up with billing and paperwork before attending a training class this morning. Thankful for the work!!! It has been a very challenging week but getting the job done for my clients is very satisfying. On surveillance on Thursday in Bradenton and resolving send out process service issues in Boca Raton and in NY city, locating witnesses that are hiding. You can run but you cannot hide!!!!

I had the opportunity to speak at the Kiwanis Club of Carrollwood luncheon today. I would like to thank Karla and Dick Nielsen with Keller Williams Properties for inviting me to speak to the group. We had a great time a Brunchies!!!! Thank you very much and Thank you for the fantastic work that you do for the many Children's and Military Groups that you do so much service work for. Early morning surveillance in St. Pete today. Subject has barely been seen outside his condo. He went out and pulled into a parking area the was restricted. I found an adjacent church to get a viable video spot. I am not above getting into some tall bushes to get video for my clients. Doing what needs to be done!!

Please keep everyone on Florida and the entire Southeast Coastline in your prayers as Hurricane Matthew makes its way up the coastline from Miami to Charleston (my old stomping grounds on the police dept). I have many friends, current or previous co-workers in the path of this storm. It looks to be the real deal!!! Stay safe everyone!!

We received some great news earlier this week on a surveillance assignment we handled. As a result of our investigation my client was filing a motion to dismiss her case under insurance fraud. I appreciate getting feedback on our efforts. This case was a good one, obtaining video documentation of our subject doing things he indicated that he does not or cannot do!!!! BUSTED!!!!!!! Why do people lie when the truth will do???

I recently heard some great news on a case that I worked on over the past 1.5 years. This was a BIG TIME criminal case here is West Central Florida. Our involvement was in support of Prosecution reviewing recorded calls of the involved parties. I am proud to have been involved in this case. Several of the defendants will be serving life sentences for Murder, Racketeering and Drug Crimes.

This week at PDK saw much frustration due to computer hacking and a series of unfortunate coincidences. Thanks to Carrollwood Professionals Network Inc-Partner "Fix My Computer on Site"-Carlos and Ivonne Alvarez for the diagnosis and repair to get me back up and running. It really put me behind the 8 ball with getting some of my reports completed for my clients.

Also went to testify for a court hearing in regard to positive results obtained in a surveillance assignment for a client in a Child Custody Action. IF you have never spent time in Family Court consider yourself lucky. For a family guy like me I felt sick to my stomach after seeing numerous cases of neglect, abandonment and other realities. Another reason to count my blessing for my family and professional life as I approach the 30 year anniversary mark in just a few days!! Blessed and Thankful to be drinking from the saucer of life!!!

Last week we conducted a couple of background checks for potential employees for all kinds of businesses and even for a potential Nanny position for one of my clients. We cannot stress enough how important it is for anyone (business or private sector) to conduct background checks for those entering your business or your home in ANY capacity. The Nanny check revealed numerous Domestic Relations cases involving the candidate as both victim and suspect. This is not the type person anyone wants watching their children. One of the business background checks on a female revealed a recent S*x Offense involving this candidate!!!! Seriously !!!! We are here to help!! Call me any time!!!

Summer has arrived in Florida. Clearing up some surveillance assignments now. Should be able to drop some lbs sitting in car without a/c for hours on end. Happiness is being a truth detector. Don't say your hurt if your not!! Someone could be watching you (like me)!!! Surveillance is both the worst and some of the best parts of my career!! Happy for the work and doing my best for my clients.

Surveillance weekend this weekend. Friday night teamed up with MP on difficult surveillance on foot during a very crowded street party. Mission accomplished stayed with subject through some difficult situations throughout the night.
Today back in the car to finish up another assignment. Just sitting here watching the grass grow ready for some activity to document. Beautiful day here in West Central Florida. Come subject it's a beautiful day for tennis, my camera and I are ready to go.
