Split ends can be the worst, am I right?
Haircuts are great for damaged hair, but they wont get every single split end. The split ender pro guides your hair through it uniformly, and trims each strand of hair. It will leave your hair feeling softer and healthier.

-Water
-Protein

Happy 5 Year Anniversary to our beloved receptionist Irene! We are so lucky to have had her with us this last 5 years! To many many more!
A lot of people don't realize how much their hair affects their confidence, until they may lose it. Chemotherapy treatment is a powerful medication that attacks the rapidly growing cancer cells. On the down side, these medications also attack all of the other rapidly growing cells, including the ones in your hair roots. The hair usually naturally returns back, though it may be a different shade or texture temporarily.
Hair loss normally starts to occur about 12-17 days after starting treatment. The hair could fall out slowly or in clumps. Regardless of the rate, many women find this to be a very stressful time. It may take up to 30 days for your hair to start to grow back after treatment. There is not any specific treatment during chemo that is said to prevent this 100% of the time. There are a few different treatments that have been studied, such as the polar cap and rogaine, but neither were proven to be absolutely effective. The way to make the best of this difficult time is to be gentle to yourself, plan for your head covering, and consider cutting/shaving it. Losing your hair can be hard, but by making the decision to shave/cut it yourself, you can emotionally regain a certain amount of control or power.
At Hair Therapy for Women, we specialize in helping women who suffer from this kind of hair loss and making custom chemotherapy prosthetic medical wigs. There are numerous adjustments that can be made to these hand-tied wigs in order for you to be comfortable in them. Sometimes insurance actually covers this expense! Fashion Wigs aren't made to be comfortable for chemotherapy patients, they can be itchy and fit the head poorly. We want to help these women feel confident and beautiful while they are going through their treatment and forever after. If you, or someone you know, wants to come in for a free consultation- Call us today, so we can discuss the best options for you or your loved one. ♡
Did you know that between 40-50% of new moms experience hair loss? This is sometimes referred to as postpartum hair loss or postpartum alopecia. This occurs after childbirth due to the sudden change of hormones in the body, particularly the change between progesterone and estrogen.
You can prevent and minimize postpartum hair loss by maintaining a healthy lifestyle after your delivery. Because postpartum hair loss is a normal result of your changing hormones, it is not something that you can immediately stop. Ensure that you are getting moderate exercise, and take postpartum vitamins and supplements if recommended by your doctor. Making sure your body is healthy and stress free is key!
Hair Therapy for Women specializes in hair loss, hair replacement, and hair extensions. We understand the struggle that comes with hair loss. We can help you get on the right path to beautiful, healthy hair today!
Did you know that 5-10 million people in the United States meet the clinical criteria for trichotillomania? Trichotillomania is also referred to as hair pulling disorder. This is an impulse control disorder that commonly causes irresistible urges to pull out ones hair, eyelashes, and or eyebrows. For some it can be mild and manageable, for others the urge to pull hair is overwhelming.
Like most complex disorders, trichotillomania is likely caused by genetic and environmental factors. This disorder usually develops in the early teen years — and it's often a lifelong problem. Severe stress may trigger trichotillomania in some people. It is common for people who have trichotillomania to have other disorders, such as depression, anxiety, or OCD.
At Hair Therapy for Women, we specialize in trichology, hair replacements, and hair extensions. Losing your hair can be one of the most stressful situations a person can go through, especially for women. We want to help you regain your confidence, and maintain the integrity of your hair. Schedule a FREE consultation today to understand more about your hair loss! We are here to help you feel comfortable while discussing your options.♡

Did you know it's common for ballerinas and cheerleaders to experience hair loss? Some people call this "ballerina baldness." The medical term known for this is Traction Alopecia. This type of hair loss is caused by constant pulling on the hair. Traction Alopecia could be caused by several things including tight ponytails, improperly installed extensions, tight braids/cornrows, and even rollers in some cases.
Here is a few ways to prevent Traction Alopecia, and minimize tension on your scalp:
♡Wear your hair down, if you would like to pull it up into a ponytail or bun keep it low on your head and loose.
♡Ensure hair extensions are installed properly and are being maintained.
♡Avoid wearing rollers to bed often.
♡Make sure braids and cornrows are not too tight.
At Hair Therapy for Women, we specialize in hair loss. Our team closely monitors our clients for any signs of stress on the hair or scalp. Our primary goal is that you leave feeling confident and beautiful, without compromising your hair.
Did you know that your hair loss can be hereditary?
Androgenic Alopecia is the medical term for hereditary hair loss, and is the most common type of hair loss worldwide. For females, it's commonly referred to as "Female Pattern Baldness." No matter the term used, it means that you have inherited a gene that causes hair follicles to shrink, and eventually stop hair growth. This can begin as early as your teens, but usually begins at later stages in life.
Is regrowth possible?
Yes! Hair loss can be slowed down or even stopped with the use of proper treatment. Without any treatment, hair loss will continue and worsen. Schedule an appointment with our Certified Clinical Trichologist today to discuss the best options for you!
After recovering from COVID-19, many women experience hair coming out in large clumps. And here's why:
Telogen Effluvium- This is the medical term referring to the shedding of hair after a fever or illness. Most people notice this shedding 2-3 months post recovery to the illness or fever.
Stress- Even if you have never experienced fever or illness, emotional stress can also cause hair to shed. Hair loss also tends to begin about 2-3 months after the stress occurs.
Our Trichologist Bobbi and our Hair Angels are specialized in hair loss, and can help you find the root of your issue. We will help you feel comfortable while discussing the best option for you and your hair. We specialize in hair loss, hair replacements, hair extensions, custom wigs, and more!✨
Hair Therapy for Women Hair Loss solutions, Hair Additions including hair extensions, toppers and chemo wigs
When we see clients, we understand that hair loss can be one of the most distressful situations a person can have, especially for a woman. At Hair Therapy for Women, we specialize in hair replacement toppers, wigs, and hair extensions. We see clients daily that deal with hair loss, and it can be very hard for them. Jada Pinkett Smith has embraced her hair loss, and she looks stunning. For a lot of women this takes a great amount of courage to do, so they would rather not be "teased." What do you think about Chris Rock's joke? Was he out of line? Check out our story for the full video.
Hello everyone it’s Bobbi. Please contact me directly on this site you you have questions for me about your current situation. We want everyone to feel safe.
We wanted to let everyone know that we realize and understand this is a very stressful situation for our guest. As of now we are still open and we are being very precocious. We are keeping everyone away from each other. No one can come in the studio ill or who has traveled outside the US in the last 2weeks. We are sanitizing each room thoroughly after each guest. No more than 10 people are in the studio at a time. If at any time we reach that capacity we will ask you to wait in the car until someone leaves and the room has been sanitized throughly.
I know this is hard on everyone and we do really care. Stay posted on this site for any changes.
Please stay safe and healthy.
Bobbi
