In November 2022, our regional sales manager, Valerie Ewing, scored an excellent opportunity with a major hardware organization. After a year of nurturing this partnership, TRN received a request to fill several warehouse and inventory roles. This task was too large for our Schaumburg, IL branch alone, so Valerie reached out to our Industrial and Manufacturing team in Omaha, NE for support.

Enter Omaha recruiter, Sean Spengler, who successfully filled every single open position. Since then, Valerie continues to receive calls from this company for industrial roles, and Sean is always ready to step in. Together, they make a dynamic duo.

This story is about more than just one project—it highlights the power of teamwork and resource-sharing. In the height of the Covid pandemic, Team1Medical hired on a Licensed Vocational Nurse as a temporary contracted employee to assist in the efforts of treating and testing patients.

She proved to be reliable, always willing to go the extra mile, and very passionate about her community and patient care.

That employee stayed contracted through Team1Medical until being hired on permanently in 2023.

A short time after being hired on with our client company, her strengths and capability for leadership were put into action when she accepted a supervisory role.

It has been such a wonderful experience to see this full circle moment come to fruition, and to see an employee become a client contact.

Fall safety is crucial.



In 2022, the National Safety Council reported 865 worker fatalities from falls, plus hundreds of thousands of serious injuries.

If you're working at a height, keep these safety tips in mind:

Always have either two hands and one foot, or two feet and one hand, on the ladder.

Wear slip-resistant shoes and never stand above the third rung from the top.

Avoid using old or damaged equipment.

Overcoming Adversity with a Smile



We had an applicant walk into our office, cane in hand, a limp in his step.



His name was Kim.



During his interview, he shared with us that he’d suffered a stroke, losing feeling in half his body.



Yet, his remarkable attitude and infectious smile couldn't be overlooked.



We placed him in a general labor role.



Kim’s reliability was unparalleled - never missing a day.



After trust was built, we placed him in a role as a 2nd shift check-in helper, overseeing new hires and attendance reports.



Over time, we witnessed Kim's condition improve as he no longer needed the assistance of a cane.



When his 2nd shift assignment ended abruptly, we knew he was perfect for another role as a 1st shift sanitation worker.



Impressed by his reliability and attitude, his responsibilities in this role grew.



A short time into his assignment, our client told us that they wanted to hire Kim as a permanent employee.



With teams in his eyes, Kim visited our office to thank us for the opportunity he was given.

40 Year Anniversary – FocIS: Our IT Team has seen a LOT of changes at TRN, and it’s good to recollect our humble origins and how far we’ve advanced.

In 1984, Don Stallard and a small staff began the journey from an office in Rocky River, Ohio. I don’t think anyone could foresee where the company was headed. That small staffing firm soon became a new company – The Reserves Network – and started to expand to new locations, under a new name.

In 1994, we had a handful of offices, all running their own Server with a program called MatchMaker. Nothing was connected – there was no email, no shared database, each office was like its own little island. We drove checks to client sites to hand them out. We printed BOXES of greenbar dot-matrix paper records. Time cards were on paper, and we faxed – a LOT.

Slowly, we started to improve our business technology – adding email, using a central database (TempWorks) that all the offices connected to – moving to a new corporate location and setting up a small Server farm. We still mailed checks, but started working with direct deposit and pay cards.

As we expanded, so did the technology needs – we moved to a hosting center, and started to rack more servers, more routers, many backup devices. TempWorks was retired, Avionte was put online. Many challenges and growing pains! The business evolved.

Now we host most systems in various “clouds”, and our network covers many more states. We are connected by smartphone, Tablet, PC, and whatever device can use the Internet. It’s amazing how far and how fast we’ve grown.

We’re glad to have been part of the evolution, and we wish all of you CONGRATULATIONS on building a successful leader in the Staffing business!! And now…..ONWARD!
