Our next auditions are just around the corner!
Would you like to spend two hours on stage playing a loveable dog who creates havoc between a married couple?

This juicy play for actors (and audiences!) even has an opportunity for one actor of any gender to play all the other roles in the play!
Join us for Sylvia - Open Auditions and Production Volunteer Opportunities on October 20th and 21st.

Director Jim Russell is seeking to cast LOTS of people in roles for all ages:
Ebenezer Scrooge – Male – Able to convincingly portray mid 50s-70s. Ebenezer Scrooge is the focal character of the play. He is a cold, miserly old man who once knew what it meant to love and live, but who is now a lonely, greedy, bitter old grouch. Deep inside, he is a good person who has allowed his pain to destroy him from within. He is rude, stubborn, stuffy, angry, closed-minded, greedy, snobby – and yet somehow not entirely unlikeable. On stage through most of the play. Upper class English dialect.
The Narrator – Male or Female – Able to convincingly portray 50s-70s. Distinguished, charming, well-spoken, kind and gentle. Upper class English dialect.
Bob Cratchit – Male – Able to convincingly portray 30s-40s. Honest, sincere, hardworking, proud, jovial, kind, a devoted father and husband. Mild Cockney dialect.
Fred – Male – Able to convincingly portray mid 20s-40. Scrooge’s nephew. Friendly, educated, sincere, kind, well-mannered. Upper class English dialect.
Young Scrooge - Male - Able to convincingly portray late teens – early twenties. Young Scrooge is Ebenezer Scrooge just before he is about to graduate from school. Upper class English dialect.
Belle - Female - Able to convincingly portray late teens – early twenties. Belle is Scrooge's first and only real love. She breaks her relationship off with him because of his changes for the worse. Scrooge later sees her happily married to someone else. Upper class English dialect.
Young Jacob Marley – Male – Able to convincingly portray late teens – early twenties. A handsome young man full of life and youthful dreams. Smart, passionate and romantic. Kind and gentle. Upper class English dialect.
Alice Fezziwig - Female -Able to convincingly portray late teens – early twenties. Alice Fezziwig is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig and appears at Fezziwig’s party. She is the sparkle in young Jacob Marley's eye. Upper class English dialect.
Mr. Fezziwig – Male – Able to convincingly portray 50s-60s. A well-to-do, inspiring, delightful, kind, fun-spirited man who loves people, Christmas and life! As good as they come. Upper class English dialect.
Mrs. Fezziwig – Female – Able to convincingly portray 50s-60s. The loving wife of Mr. Fezziwig. Sometimes the more common-sensed of the pair. But just as kind and happy as the Mister. Upper class English dialect.
Mrs. Upton – Female – Able to convincingly portray 40-70. A very proper and well-to-do ‘busybody’ – extremely high brow and very well spoken. Polite, pleasant and pushy. Knows her place – and yours. Upper class English dialect.
Mrs. Chumsworthy – Female – Able to convincingly portray 20-70. Could be a younger tag-along “busybody-in-training” or could be closer in age to Mrs. Upton. Quirky, well-bred but nerdy and not a gifted speaker. Quite comical, stiff, unsure of herself, may be hard of hearing or have a quirky voice or be asthmatic, etc. – great opportunity to create a funny character! Upper class English dialect.
The Ghost of Jacob Marley - Male - Able to convincingly portray 50s-80s. Jacob Marley was, in life, Scrooge’s business partner. He was a greedy and grouchy old man, just like Scrooge. He died seven years ago and now is an unhappy and miserable ghost doomed to painfully wander the earth in chains for all eternity. Upper class English dialect

Child Scrooge - Male - Able to convincingly portray 7-12. Child Scrooge is Ebenezer Scrooge when he was an innocent young child in school. Upper class English dialect.
Fan – Female – Able to convincingly portray 10-14. Fan is Scrooge’s sister. Upper class English dialect.
