This weeks is the perfect example of a local small business that has been brightening people’s homes for decades with style, talent & experience!

Donna's Decor, a division of The Donna Group, Inc., has been serving the interior design needs of its customers in the Greater Taunton area since 1976. Owner Donna Urciuoli prides herself on offering quality custom draperies, valances, bedspreads, cushions, blinds, custom furniture reupholstering, and accessories, allowing customers to choose from a large selection of designer fabrics. “I enjoy working with people, listening to their ideas, guiding them, and making their design dreams a reality,” said Donna.

In the early 1970’s Donna received her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and taught in the Boston Public School system. In 1976 she decided she wanted to use her knowledge and sewing skills acquired at a very young age to start her own business. Her main focus at that time was in furniture reupholstering. She took hands-on courses offered by Career International’s Modern Upholstery Institute, and then branched out into custom draperies and home interior accessories, while developing her own workroom. She then furthered her education in interior design at the Rhode Island School of Design’s certificate program where she honed in on styles, trends, and home interior techniques that continue to affect how she helps people.

“Even with all my training & experience, I still allow my customers to influence the process based on their likes, their lifestyle, practicality, and always keeping their budget in mind.” explains Donna. She also is a premier retailer of Graber shades, shadings, blinds and shutters, along with offering great sales promotions, and believing in their guaranteed quality and durability.

While she has advertised her business in a variety of ways through the years, her biggest assets are her loyal return customers who also advocate on her behalf through word of mouth.
