House of Bread is about more than just attending an uplifting Sunday morning service; it’s about building lives, creating authentic community and making disciples. On Sundays, we focus on celebrating Jesus and during the week we gather to build each other up. In case you were wondering, a strong faith in Jesus Christ is not a prerequisite. Wearing a suit, jeans, sneakers or a tie is all up to you. We hope to see you there next Sunday!

God: "This is what I want for you.
Today, no matter what comes your way, I want you to find me in the midst of it. It’s my desire that you become steady and unshakable, in every situation, because of your awareness of me.
I want you to pay attention to the stillness of my Spirit inside of you, more than the swirling storms around you.
Anchor yourself in my peace, by processing everything with me—great or small.
You don’t need to have ups and downs that throw you off course. I want you to enjoy the confidence that comes from the reality of my presence. I want you to experience that presence, with you and in you, every moment of every day.
I want your faith to be unmovable, your walk with me to be unwavering and steady. I desire that you experience continual communion with me that becomes your daily practice. When you cultivate our relationship and pay attention to me in every circumstance, no plan of the enemy will keep you down for long.
Though at times you will be caught off guard by trials, you will always know that my hand is firmly grasped around yours."
“Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.”
ISAIAH 41:10

Your mind will believe what you tell it.
So feed it FAITH.
Feed it TRUTH.
A psalm of David when he was in the Desert of Judah.
1 You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
6 On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.
7 Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you; your right hand upholds me...

If you need something to be thankful for today...
Bless the Lord... who forgives all my sins & heals all my diseases.
Who redeems my life from destruction, Who crowns me with loving kindness & tender mercies.
The Lord is merciful & gracious, slow to anger, & abounding in mercy.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west, he has removed our sins from us. (Psalm 103)
Truth!
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace...
Every one of us is a "bridge crosser." My question is, which kind of a bridge crosser are you? There are those of us who cross bridges when we come to them and there are those of us who cross bridges before we even know where the bridge is or when we'll come upon it.
The latter causes endless worry and concern. It can cause some to spiral into depression and fear. The Lord doesn't want us to worry. About anything. He tells us to cast our cares upon Him. He tells us not to be anxious about ANYthing, (not SOME things), but in everything, with thanksgiving in our heart, to bring our requests before Him. And the peace of God that transcends our understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:6-7)
He also tells us not to worry about tomorrow because tomorrow has enough worries of its own. (Matt. 6:34)
We can trust that God is already in tomorrow, waiting to give us the grace we need for that moment in time.
So, which kind of bridge crosser will you be?
No matter what you woke up to this morning, God's love, grace, and mercy towards you have not changed.
He is your Comforter, your Peace, your Rock, your Hiding Place.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. ~Psalm 91:2
“God is always doing 10,000 things in your life, and you may be aware of three of them.”
We always only see the current minutes and hours, while God sees every tomorrow..."
And it’s good to remember His plan for me will never look like His plan for you or anyone else. ~ John Piper
Thank you, Lord, that you are abundantly present in this day!
Psalm 139:4 ~
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
God gives us “today” grace.
So, we should only carry what we must on this day. Then tomorrow, we will have tomorrow’s grace. And six months from now, the grace for that day will greet us and help us carry the weight of that day.
Where I sometimes get in trouble is trying to carry today’s stress with tomorrow’s worry and the fear of six months from now all with today’s grace. That’s when it all feels like too much to bear.
It’s not that we don’t want to plan for the future and be discerning about how to responsibly handle what’s next. That’s wise and good.
It’s just that we don’t want to become so stressed, fearful and full of anxiety about tomorrow that we miss the grace and goodness of this beautiful day.
Matthew 6:34, NIV: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
This isn’t denying what’s hard. But it is choosing to only do what can be done today. - Lysa Terkeurst
The God of all creation knows YOU by name!
Trying to control your own life is exhausting.
Ask me how I know.
This is such a struggle for me. I say I trust God with my mouth, but in reality, I get overwhelmed trying to fix and control things myself.
If you can relate, I want to share some Biblical wisdom that I’ve been clinging to.
Here are two truths from 2 Chronicles 16 that will help us keep choosing to trust God, not just with our words but also with our actions:
1) God is not blind to our circumstances or our choices to trust Him
We serve a God who sees. He is an all-knowing, ever-present God who is continually aware of every detail of our lives. (Psalm 33:18; 34:15-16; Proverbs 15:3; 1 Peter 3:12) And not only is God aware, but He is also looking to strengthen those who are willing to wholeheartedly place their trust in Him.
2) God has been faithful before, and He will be faithful again.
Fear makes us forgetful. This is why we must purposefully look back and trace God's hand of faithfulness in our lives. God's faithfulness before assures us He will be faithful again. (Hebrews 10:35-36)
Let's not just declare that we have faith. Let's live out loud that we believe God is good, faithful and trustworthy. Let's stop running to fix things our way so that we can stop and fix our eyes on God. (Isaiah 26:3)
He sees. He knows. He cares. We can rest assured.

What a gift God gave us when He created Earth's beauty! Where will you see Him today?..The Earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - Psalm 33:5
😊
Do you have people in your life who are difficult to love? Some are more challenging than others. It's certainly not easy to love and pray for those who have hurt us, but Jesus did.
Do you think that, just because this was Jesus, it was easier for Him than us? While on the cross, Jesus modeled two ways for us to love and pray for the hard-to-love people in our lives. "Though for us it feels impossible to be kind and pray for someone who has hurt us, we must if we are serious about being Jesus’ disciples. Just as Jesus chose to forgive in prayer, so it is a choice we too can make. And He will help us."
