Businessman is still selling Temecula after 30 years Dave Wilson, who runs Destination Temecula Wine Tours and Experiences, long ago saw the area’s potential, columnist Carl Love writes.

August 16, 1993 through August 16, 2023 and onward. Wow.
Did many in the valley embrace and support this? Not really. Few understood what I was doing. And few realized at the time the area's destiny as it has become a significant southern California tourism destination.

Even today our services can be a bit abstract to some. It has definitely evolved.

Destination management, corporate, leisure, and special occasion tour, excursion and event coordination, plus winemaker teambuilding facilitation keep our guest-centric team hopping!

Did the Winegrower Association embrace this? Hesitantly, with the exception of the recently departed Audrey Cilurzo, wine country pioneer, who did embrace Destination Temecula - she was 'all in' - my huge 'granite boulder' in the valley always supporting my early efforts, welcoming every one of our guests for a private tour of her winery, and many of our groups for a meal SHE COOKED, then served to 20, 30 people in her hilltop adobe home, as Vince, her Emmy award-winning Hollywood lighting director husband held court-always with a glass of his Petite Syrah in hand -the two of them leaving an indelible memory with all who were fortunate to be graced by their presence. I will be speaking at Audrey's celebration of life on Sunday honoring her.

And thanks to so.many others who have been integral in helping and supporting my efforts all along this crazy, entrepreneurial 30-year rollercoaster ride.
