Our audition consists of the submission of a Headshot & Full-Body Shot. Examples are included in this post.

You may include any examples of past work. Parents may include family portraits but must identify participants.

Sonoran University believes that when we see people as they want to be seen, to speak to individuals as they would like to be referred to, the benefits of affirmation can be a tremendous impact on their ability to not just survive but thrive.

In a survey conducted by the Trevor Project (The Trevor Project National Survey), the impact of affirming a person's identity has a powerful effect on people who are transgender, and in many cases could lead to providing the support they need to save their lives. The US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Population Affairs (https://opa.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/2022-03/gender-affirming-care-young-people-march-2022.pdf) stated, "Presence of affirming support networks is critical for facilitating and arranging gender-affirming care for children and adolescents. Lack of such support can result in rejection, depression and su***de, homelessness, and other negative outcomes."

Naturopathic medicine acknowledges the interconnectedness of the human body. We treat the whole person - mind and body. We enthusiastically acknowledge, support, and offer a place where students, staff, and patients are treated with respect and dignity.

: On Wednesday, March 27, Sonoran University of Health Sciences President & CEO, Dr. Paul Mittman, announces his retirement in June of 2025.

Dr. Mittman has served as Sonoran University’s president since 1999 and achieved a variety of great successes including transforming the institution from a single-purpose college to a university, building strong relationships resulting in multiple transformational contributions, creating a unified on-ground campus in Tempe, ensuring the University offers free medical and nutritional care for the community, and inspiring a culture at the University that embodies the institutional core values of “We Love, We Shape the Future, We Do the Right Thing, We Achieve Excellence, and We Are Resilient.”

Sonoran University’s Board of Trustees is currently preparing for a presidential search.
