What did you need the most, after you gave birth? Let’s talk about it!
What attention, services, encouragement, meals, cleaning, ideas, etc. did you receive that made the biggest difference?
What do you wish you had received?
What have you given, that has made the biggest difference, for someone you care about?
Let me know, below, and I’ll randomly draw a winner to receive a free ticket to the upcoming conference on April 23rd!

This is how it is, as a midwife. ❤️
What do you say to a sister
who is about to
enter the sea
when you don’t know if she will be met
with storms or calm water
when you don’t know what
journey awaits and
how she’ll make it to shore
What do you say to a sister
when you see her scan the horizon
hesitant and unsure
when you know her fear
and the work that lays ahead
when you know she’ll come out the other side
Changed
Softer perhaps. Or maybe scarred.
But stronger, too, no doubt.
You walk with her as deep as you can into those waters
and you hold her close, as long as you can
and then you let go
and let her dive deep
knowing there are parts of this journey
she must make alone
knowing there are storms that she must face on her own
And you stand, a lighthouse, the shore
as she becomes one with the sea

Pregnant goddesses!
A hospital program is supporting women to give birth in their own homes, and the results are positive If you'd told Camilla Kennedy five years ago that she would one day give birth at home, she says she probably would have laughed. But, just a few weeks ago, the 33-year-old did just that.

At first, I thought, “I’ll ask her to move, so we can read the whole thing... ‘Welcome to a place of love.”
And then I realized, maybe this is somehow a message for me. Maybe this is why I feel so lit up with my daughter today, free of anxiety (rare for me), so connected to her and so full of hope and joy.
“Welcome to a pace of love.”
I’m getting it, little Oracle girl, little priestess. 🌟
Slow down, sister. Slow down, mama. Slow down with me. Slow down. 🦋
Thank you for a slow morning full of crystals, oracles, tea, and yummies,
❤️🌳
And for some slow, screen-free people-powered entertainment,
Gorgeous capture, ! ❤️
Mother Blessings are one of my favorite parts of being a midwife. 🦋
So exciting!
We did it!
We beat the record by 19!
255 moms showed up and made history.
We made a HUGE statement and that’s what we came out for.
The feeling I got after the photo was done and the overwhelming support of everyone surrounding the event tugged at my heart.
Hearing the moms cheer at the end made a huge lump in my throat and I think I speak the same for everyone standing behind me at the event and seeing this photo it brings a tear to our eyes.
All these mamas came out into 107 degrees to make a statement loud and clear for everyone around the world.
That statement is Normalize breastfeeding. There is absolutely NOTHING taboo about breastfeeding. And there is nothing taboo about breastfeeding in public.
Something new that I experienced this year was that I had asked a few moms if they were coming and their response was “No, I only pump.” Or “I wish I could come to the event but I’m pumping.”
Or “I get donated breast milk I don’t breastfeed”
Wait… WHAT? You are still BREASTfeeding your child. It doesn’t matter HOW you breastfeed your child you are still feeding your child with your (Or some one else) Breast. And THAT Is what we are normalizing.
We are not only normalizing all types of breastfeeding but we are normalizing doing it in public any time. Any where. And WAY you want to.
Breastfeed in public.
Breastfeed while you eat
Breastfeed at the table.
Breastfeed at the park.
Breastfeed at the mall.
Breastfeed at work.
Breastfeed at a party.
Breastfeed in line.
Breastfeed around people.
And yes… Breastfeeding in public means you can pump in public too.
Did you know that is 2018 it was officially legal to breastfeed in all 50 States?
That means you have the RIGHT to breastfeed in any public space, any where and any time you’d like!
Is it sad that it took that long to legalize breastfeeding? Yes. But it’s here and you have every right, and need to take advantage of that.
My heart was warmed and I got goosebumps at the amount of women at the event told me this was their first time breastfeeding in any public space. I’m so happy you felt safe enough to do that at this event and I truly hope you feel safe enough to do it at another public space when your baby is hungry.
To any woman seeing this photo…
These moms have your back and SO many more. These moms will stand up for you if they see you. They will support you. They will fight for you.
The breastfeeding community is strong around the world and this army of moms will fight for you to have a safe place to feed your baby when you need to.
Not all moms that are part of this community are in this photo. Some don’t live in AZ and some aren’t currently breastfeeding. But they will still fight for you and be there to support you in any way possible.
This community is around the world so don’t be scared. You are not alone.
We stand together to raise awareness. We stand here showing you a very very normal and miraculous thing our body does. It nourishes or babies, our kids, others kids.
Some of these moms sat together with their milk donor. Some pumped. Some nursed. Some nursed children over 1 and some nursed babies 53 hours old. Some bottle fed their child with donated milk, or their own milk. Some wet nursed. Some tandem nursed. And all together they are the same.
All with the same goal. To stand together as an army of moms raising awareness we are so very passionate about.
All nationalities.
All different beliefs.
All different types of moms.
All different types of parenting styles.
All different races.
All different breastfeeding styles.
All different personalities.
All different jobs.
All different walks of life.
One same goal.
Normalize all types of breastfeeding. And in public.
So if you see a breastfeeding mom give her some love. Ask her if she needs water or help pushing her shopping cart. You don’t need to stare or be awkward. Tell her she’s in a safe place. Shoot, give a a simple smile or thumbs up. It will mean the world to her. I promise.
Thank you to all the mamas that came out and endured the heat to make a stand. I know it was disgusting but look at what you did. Just wow!!
Thank you SO much to Medela USA for sending pumps for the mamas pumping in the photo and nursing and pumping bras for a ton of the moms in the photo as well and gifts in the gift bags!
Thank you so much to Momcozy for donating totes and bras for the moms and also hand free pumps for the moms in the photo as well!
Thank you to all the vendors that sent items for the gift bags and giving the moms an amazing treat for coming (tags to come with pics!)
Thank you to my volunteers for coming out and helping out just out of the kindness of your heart
Man cub. 🐺❤️ First day of senior year!

all day, every day, these days! Thank you to for the incredible 4-day Advanced Midwifery Skills conference! We sat in sisterhood and sutured beef hearts, created business plans, unstuck stuck babies, started IVs, reviewed pharmacology, assessed blood loss with real homebirth scenarios (hello chux pad accidentally stuffed by a student in the trash bag hanging behind the door) and even learned a bit about the chakra system (dreamy, Augustine!). After 13 years of clinical practice, I can honestly say this was the most practical and pragmatically applicable conference I’ve ever attended. And look at all those gorgeous, badass midwives! ❤️❤️❤️
Also, check out the Mindful Mamas Summit free Facebook group today! I’ll be presenting easy, quick, and free Mindfulness techniques for birth keepers and birthing people, alike. 🦋

Our bodies are temples. ❤️
"A reminder to any woman who looks at her body and finds it flawed: these are prehistoric carvings of goddesses. These represent the epitome of feminine beauty to those we seek to emulate when we go on diets. Not a flat tummy, thigh gap, or gravity-defying breast among them.
These are bodies that are unique to their owners, and contain stories of desire, creation, hardship, and perseverance. These are bodies that are ready to hold you as you cry. These are bodies that worked every day to provide nourishment, resources and guidance to their communities while also caring for the next generation. They supported one another in their labor, holding one another’s babies while they worked crafting tools, collecting water & singing songs to teach the young about the goddesses they so closely resembled.
And these carvings weren’t found in just one area. They’ve been discovered nearly everywhere humanity has settled and thrived. Which means there was a time when womanhood, in all her power and capacity, was revered not as merely a sexual novelty or shunned as sinful temptation, but seen as a source of inspiration to create, to connect, and to find courage.
Today, our patriarchal society reveres conformity in women over all. It demands that women strive to achieve and maintain a form that resembles an untested girl. Our bodies must look perpetually untouched, unspoiled, a blank slate for a man to claim and use and write his own story upon. Instead of worshiping women as they are, we scrutinize and discard them as never good enough. And the more we strive to conform, the more we give up control of our bodies.
So have comfort, women: with each fat roll and jiggle you gain as you move forward in time, you come closer to resembling the goddess as she originally appeared in the hearts of humanity. She lives in you and longs to be seen and revered as she was before.
And you deserve to be worshipped."

Herbal foot baths with , sound bath with .weberbeatty , group reiki with , sister circle with ... It doesn’t get much better than this!
Being strong in my self-care game is what keeps me energized, and keeps my passion alive for the sacred work I get to do as a midwife.
I feel so blessed to be included in this powerful group of mothers who take great care of themselves and each other. 🦋
I just found out there are only four tickets left! Come join me on Saturday!
The first Sunday before Mother’s Day, each year, is Bereaved Mother’s Day. It is a day to honor all of the mothers who have lost children, and to honor the lives of those children. I acknowledge and send my love and respect to the bereaved mothers in my life, today, and their precious children. These children’s lives were meaningful and are no more and no less important than any of our own. I speak their names to the moon tonight.❤️
It’s ! In celebration of the Amazingness of doulas, and the huge difference you make for families, let’s do a doula roll call!
If you are a doula serving the Phoenix area, please introduce yourself and share all your socials and contact info! We want to get to know you! 🌸🌼🌻🌹🌺
Thank you, Nicole Angeline Hamic, for sharing this hilarious video that also brilliantly illustrates how the natural hormonal cascade can be interfered with, stifled, and sometimes completely stopped by “standard” medical intervention.
I don’t think there’s anything that could be more of a turn off than being labeled in the moment as “not measuring up,” whether in length or dilation. And we know that the same hormones that are at play, during lo******ng, are also at play, during labor.
