In true Gemini/manifestor form, my office is moving again! (Donā€™t worry- itā€™s super close to my current one).

Since I started working at 18 the longest I have ever stayed at one job is 2.5 years. I used to think there was something wrong with me but now I know itā€™s pretty normal for me to get itchy feet after so long and need to shake things up (the perks of understanding your human design! It validates your life experience). Since Iā€™ve been doing acupuncture for over 10 years now, that is absolutely the longest Iā€™ve stuck with doing one thing, so doing things like moving my office are apparently necessary to my mental health. Iā€™ve been at my current office for almost 2 years now, so itchy feet syndrome has hit full force.

It is bittersweet as I am SO sad to say goodbye to my lakeside view with all the birds and fish and turtles, but Iā€™m also excited to be in a new spot surrounded by other amazing healing practitioners. Honestly the new spot will be a better fit for me as I am now with an environment that is more supportive to the work I do.

Iā€™ll be at the lakeside office for the rest of July with my last day set for Friday July 26th and Iā€™ll be ready to roll at the new location on Thursday August 1st.

If you want one last sesh at the current spot, hit me up or book yo-self online (booking link in bio). Iā€™ll put out more details closer to the date. Hope yaā€™al are having a fantabulous summer!

06/19/2024

Wow, itā€™s the last day of spring šŸ˜³. I donā€™t know about other areas of the country (world), but when you live in southern Arizona, summer comes way earlier than June 20th and can be HARSH. Take it from someone who struggled with summertime seasonal affective disorder (SAD) for well over 10 years: transitioning into this new season can be challenging.

There were many things I did to help myself be on the other side of SAD (I did an entire podcast episode about how I overcame it), but one tool that was particularly helpful was working with power animals. Iā€™ve been talking about these guys a lot lately as Iā€™m about to release a course called Power Animal Magic, and in the lead up to the course release have been doing mini podcast episodes about it.

I just dropped the latest episode where I go into detail about how working with a power animal can help you in your life. Take it from me, if working with power animals helped give me strength to overcome SAD, without the need for medication, they can help you with anything.

Check out the episode to learn more about how specifically a power animal can help YOU. Details on bio. And stay tuned as Iā€™ll soon be announcing the release of the course, hopefully around the 4th of July (the perfect way to ride the independence wave). šŸ» šŸ  šŸ¦…

Today is my 40th solar return. As I head into a new decade and give my gratitude for everything that transpired in my 30s, I rather feel like a blank canvas is stretched before me.

I have long been feeling that I need to make a drastic shift in my business, and since my business is basically just an extension of me, it means making a drastic shift in myself.

Something Iā€™ve been sitting with for a while but have been having massive fear around is playing small. Or rather, feeling like itā€™s time to STOP playing small. Itā€™s time for me to show up BIG.

I still donā€™t quite have the words to articulate what showing up big means exactly, but what I can say is that it means showing up very authentically and really putting myself out there. For 5 years now Iā€™ve been ā€œhidingā€ behind my business name Path of Wellness. And while Iā€™m still keeping that name for my in person practice, Iā€™m stepping out from behind the name and just showing up as me, not just Nicole the acupuncturist but Nicole the shaman, because thatā€™s really where the most profound work happens for me and what Iā€™m called to share the most.

Notice the Instagram handle change. I had a separate account for that I intended to use separately from Path of Wellness, but decided it was time to drop the old name and embrace my own name. When you try to change your Instagram handle thereā€™s a 2 week lag time. I was randomly reminded today that it was time to try to see if the lag time was over and what do you know, it was! No coincidence that it happened on my birthday (especially since I donā€™t even remember the date when I tried to initiate the change in the first place).

So if you are ready to go on the journey with me through shamanism, natural and spirit healing and who even knows what else in a much bigger way, Iā€™ll see you around. šŸŒø

06/01/2024

You guys, I canā€™t make this stuff up! This is a direct quote from my 5 year old requesting acupuncture before bed.

This is going to be how I describe it from now on: ā€œacupuncture makes you feel wound down instead of wound upā€. Couldnā€™t have said it better myself.

How about you? Are you needing to feel ā€œwound downā€? Iā€™ve got some openings next week. Schedule some time for a wind down šŸ˜‰

05/23/2024

You guys! I fell off the face of social media earth but I assure you I have been busy behind the scenes. I am FINALLY creating my long awaited course on power animals!!

This course has been a long time coming and has been born partially out of necessity and partially because I just really wanted to create it.

It isnā€™t complete yet but Iā€™m already super proud of it and I know itā€™s going to be very potent for the people who take it. More details to come but just wanted to do a little ā€œteaser trailerā€ behind the scenes. šŸ˜‚

02/18/2024

Hola amigos! Itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve done an introduction post, and as I continue to make changes in my business, I figured it was time for an update.

Iā€™m Nicole, acupuncturist and shamanic practitioner and owner/operator of Path of Wellness Acupuncture and Healing Arts. In my private practice in Mesa, I specialize in helping people do deep transformational work by moving through emotional trauma, overcoming anxiety and better managing stress.

My practice has been open for almost 5 years now (although Iā€™ve been licensed for almost 10!), and in that time I have tested out a whole bunch of different things in my business. Some of them worked, and many of them didnā€™t.

One thing that has worked beautifully is putting more of a spiritual spin on my work and incorporating other tools outside the realm of Chinese medicine. And I also started a podcast based upon my shamanic/spiritual work and practice too, which has been super fun!

But what Iā€™ve found is that everything I want to do with the podcast is just a bit too much for the scope of Path of Wellness as it currently is as an in person practice. So what Iā€™ve decided to do is something that makes my Gemini heart very happy and split these different aspects of my business into their own separate entities.

shall remain what it has always been at its core: the place for sharing all things acupuncture, Chinese medicine and a little bit of shamanic work and how these techniques apply to helping people move through trauma, anxiety and stress. And my podcast and more in depth shamanic work shall have its own channel where it can be properly showcased instead of crammed into my current business model.

Iā€™ll share more as I split everything up and launch the new endeavor, but for now stay tuned for a more cohesive theme here and some new segments.

Thank you all for your continued support. šŸ¤—

Happy Lunar New Year! Weā€™re celebrating withā€¦ a Frozen party šŸ˜‚ (and apparently The Mandalorian because I missed the dress code memo).

Weā€™re now in the year of the wood dragon, which means itā€™ll be a year full of growth and momentum. Podcast episode about this auspicious time coming soon, I just need to recover from party hosting first. šŸ„³

The first of February marks a pagan holiday called Imbolc, a cross quarter holiday on the wheel of the year, which is a place right in between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.

This is a time where we are still in the thick of winter, but we are starting to see the beginnings of spring, mainly, the days are getting longer and we have more daylight!

With the return of the light in a season that is dark and cold, Imbolc celebrates this return to light and warmth by honoring the Irish goddess Brigid.

Brigid is the goddess of the eternal flame šŸ”„ and is near and dear to my heart as she was one of the very first spirit guides I worked with when I first began shamanic training.

On this Imbolc of 2024, I invite you to pause and consider what areas of your life have felt dark and where you could use a light to help guide you. The spirit of Brigid is here to help provide you with that light and to remind you that light always follows darkness.

Lighting a candle today could be a great way to honor this goddess or to just honor the light within you that is always there, even in the dark moments of winter.

Happy New Year! Iā€™ve been deep in hibernation mode, but am starting to embrace the vibe of Aquarius season and todayā€™s full moon (yay!) with a new podcast episode!

If youā€™ve been feeling winter blues, this would be a great episode for you as I discuss how to embody the spirits of the winter, the water element (Chinese 5-element theory) and the wolves.

Todayā€™s full moon is known as the wolf moon so I go into what itā€™s like to work with wolf spirit as a power animal and how you can use its magic to help get you through this challenging time of year.

Show is available on all the major podcast platforms. Check out the link in bio. šŸ¤—šŸŽ™

Got a last minute gift you need to get? Or maybe youā€™re trying to gift to somebody who seems to be impossible to shop for? Why not think outside the box this season with a last minute gift of zen with a Path of Wellness gift certificate?

This is a perfect gift for anybody who could use a little more chill time, looking to recover from the stress of the holiday season or go into the new year with a healthier outlook on life.

Certificates available for both acupuncture and shamanic acupuncture services (now THAT would make for a truly unique gift!). Shamanic acupuncture is great for the individual who wants to venture down the rabbit hole of spirituality, to clear energetic blocks and spiritually empower themselves to be their best selves yet. What a way to start 2024!

Link in bio will take you straight to the gift certificate page of the website where you can purchase online and have an instant gift. Or if youā€™re not sure which service to gift or are wanting to customize a gift, send us a DM and weā€™re happy to help. šŸ¤—

Itā€™s officially time to have a changing of the bells on my office door! Today marks the official first day of winter, the longest night of the year and the onset of the water season according to Chinese medicine 5 element theory (and the reason for my lovely blue blessing bells from ).

This is the most ā€œyinā€ point of the year, a still point where we fully embrace the feminine qualities of being versus doing.

And I just dropped a new podcast episode all about the winter solstice where I give a super easy ritual you can do to embody the yin qualities of this current season. Link in bio.

Happy winter solstice, yā€™all!

Itā€™s Wellness Wednesday, the segment where I discuss things Iā€™m doing to keep myself well, and today Iā€™m changing it up a bit. Hereā€™s something that I will be doing for my self care that you are invited to come along to!

Next Saturday, November 18th Iā€™ll be part of the Magical Momboss Showcase where me and a group of other awesome mom bosses are providing a day retreat of self care to our community of women. It will be an awesome and fun day filled with:

šŸ‘‰Crafting purses
šŸ‘‰An astrology workshop
šŸ‘‰Group art experience
šŸ‘‰Meditating to connect with your inner wise woman
šŸ‘‰A twerkshop (nope, thatā€™s not a typo!)
šŸ‘‰and Iā€™ll be leading a shamanic journey to meet a female archangel where we will power up a crystal that we will then use for self acupressure.

I donā€™t know about you, but I NEED this kind of healing medicine right about now, from the workshops to the power of just being in community with other women.

If you too are feeling like you need this kind of magic in your life, then join us! If youā€™re interested in buying a ticket, hit me up and Iā€™ll send you my discount code to receive $10 off your purchase.

See you then! šŸ¤—

Office vibes. Sometimes (weather, time and logistics permitting), we get to move sessions outside.

I am blessed to have an office space right off of a body of water, so we can do all kinds of cool healing work just by proximity to the water and sky. Itā€™s the perfect environment for some drumming.

Did you know that Chinese medicine has roots in shamanism? Way back in the day (weā€™re talking thousands of years ago), Chinese medicine doctors were also shamans. The two modalities were one and the same.

I became an acupuncturist (or a Chinese medicine doctor- just without the official ā€œdoctorā€ title because acupuncture politics) first and then went on to do shamanic training separately, not even really understanding that that was the way it was always done historically. This path just sort of magically unfolded for me, which is still really cool to me.

But the art of drumming is not only a big tool in shamanic work, but can also be applied to the realm of Chinese medicine. There are specific drum beats that resonate with the different organs in the body and can harmonize the different elements as well. I utilize drumming (and rattling, bells and other types of sound) to further enhance treatments. It helps a lot with the whole somatic healing thing too as the vibrations of the instruments can literally move trauma out of the physical body.

Kitchen witchinā€™! šŸ§™ā€ā™€ļø Iā€™m fully trained in Chinese herbal medicine but the majority of the time Iā€™m using pre-made tablets or capsules, whether on myself or prescribing them for clients.

But lately I started dusting off my ceramic herb pot (I think of it as my witchā€™s cauldron) and have been incorporating raw herbal teas into my daily life again. And what I realized is that I missed it!

Thereā€™s a certain magic to brewing up your own herbal medicine, smelling it throughout the house (which your housemates usually arenā€™t fond of btw šŸ˜‚), infusing it with your own good intentions and wishes and then getting to take your medicine as part of a daily ritual for health and well being. And itā€™s even more fun when you get to visit friends and brew magic medicine for them too!

Being an herbal student intern at school was my favorite internship as I got to just prescribe herbs all day and spend time in the herbal pharmacy. I loved it! And itā€™s even better when people take their magic formulas and get relief.

What are you doing to support your health and wellness right now? Whether youā€™re brewing your own teas, meditating or cooking yummy soups, Iā€™d love to know!

Hey yā€™all, itā€™s been a while! But Iā€™ve been getting some new followers lately and thought I would introduce myself and give a little update about the goings on behind the scenes here (and thank you to the new followers, btw!)

Iā€™m Nicole, an acupuncturist shaman who specializes in helping people dive deep into their emotional traumas to get to the bottom of whatever is truly holding them back from living their most optimal lives. For those who have followed me for a while, if this message sounds new to you, thatā€™s because it is. I am right smack in the middle of a rebrand and let me tell you, it is taking FOREVER.

Between the updated branding photo shoot (a huge thank you to for this and many other awesome photos!), having entirely new designs made for my logos and branding, completely redoing my website, packages, offerings, rewriting every single page and a total overhaul and renaming/rebranding of my podcast, itā€™s been A LOT of work.

I am so incredibly anxious to get it all done so I can share it with the world in its entirety, but in the meantime I figured I could at the very least start to trickle some of the newness out there on social media to keep yā€™all in the loop.

So with that, here is a new headshot that was taken just outside of my office and my new logo (itā€™s cut off because I canā€™t figure out the sizing but you get the gist. I have been doing business as Path of Wellness Acupuncture for 4 years now but my official business name is Path of Wellness Healing Arts, so I have decided that this is the name Iā€™m going to embrace (although I will keep my website domain as pathofwellnessacu for simplicity purposes and to avoid the SEO nightmare).

While I am a bit sad to say goodbye to the current version of my business and all of the green branding colors, I am SUPER excited to be embracing more magic into my business and the color purple (my favorite!).

More to come as I get through the mountain of work still to be done. šŸ˜‚ Stay tuned!

Happy July!

I will be going out of town for a family vacation later this month and will have some slightly different hours for the last 2 weeks of July.

I will be in the office the following days:

Monday, July 17th from 9-3pm
Tuesday, July 18th from 9-3pm
Wednesday, July 18th from 9-3pm
Saturday July 29th from 9-3pm

I donā€™t normally work Mondays, Tuesdays or Saturdays, so if these are days that work really well for your schedule and you could use a tune up, definitely take advantage of it!

Please note the office will be closed for the following dates:

Thursday, July 20th through Friday July 28th. I also wonā€™t be answering my phone or email much during this week, so if you need to get a hold of me, please be patient and Iā€™ll get back to you as soon as I can. Iā€™m trying to implement more work/life balance and actually going ā€œofflineā€ during vacation time is an important step for me.

Itā€™s officially summer here in the desert, which means hot temps, dry air and dull, flaky, lackluster skin.

If youā€™ve been having to slather on more lotion than usual lately and your skin is still just not having it, consider facial rejuvenation acupuncture. This is a totally natural treatment that helps to gently lift the face, fill in fine lines, increase collagen production, enable skin to absorb product better and overall bring your natural glow back.

Since this is a new service at my office, I have been offering 10 packs of facial rejuvenation (cosmetic) acupuncture for HALF OFF! I still have 2 of these packs left, so if youā€™re feeling like your skin is suffering this summer and youā€™d like to get your glow back, shoot me a DM and weā€™ll see if facial rejuvenation acupuncture is right for you.

Check out my previous post on this from a couple weeks ago where I talk about the requirements and contraindications on facial rejuvenation acupuncture.

DM, call or text 480-712-7032 and letā€™s get you looking refreshed again!

Happy summer solstice! We have officially entered the ā€œfireā€ time of the year according to Chinese medicine 5 element theory.

This is a time of light, expansion, abundance and joy. I had some time to devote to some witchy goodness at the office today to supercharge the energy to bring in the best of the fire season.

āœ… Candle burning rituals
āœ… Burning a hand made local smudge bundle (thanks !)
āœ… Hanging my fire season blessing bells (thanks !)
āœ… Oracle card good luck spells (I chose this card at random. How appropriate!)
āœ… Journaling, prayers and blessings and more

And the office feels great!

Wishing you all a joyous and prosperous fire time. And if your fire element is out of balance, stay tuned later this week for tips on what you can do to get back in alignment (or to just learn what the heck Iā€™m even talking about šŸ˜‚)šŸ”„

06/19/2023

Iā€™m excited to announce that I have been taking training in cosmetic, or facial rejuvenation acupuncture! This is a lovely service that helps to naturally improve the overall appearance, texture and function of the skin and muscles on the face.

Cosmetic acupuncture works in the following ways:

āœ… It stimulates collagen production, which will help to gently ā€œfill inā€ wrinkles, fine lines and even acne scars on the face. It works a bit like Botox in this way, but it does not paralyze the muscles.
āœ… It gently ā€œliftsā€ the muscles of the face, which helps improve the appearance overall. Please note, this is NOT a surgical facelift and will not give you surgical facelift results. But it DOES help make you look naturally more lifted.
āœ… It helps to smooth out the overall texture of the skin and improve discoloration. What I have found is that after about 6 sessions, a client will look like they are wearing makeup when they not wearing any makeup. Wow!
āœ… It can help improve the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, etc.
āœ… It can help to decrease redness on the face
āœ… And so much more!

Results of cosmetic acupuncture are best achieved through a series of treatments. Since this is a natural procedure, it takes more than one treatment to really get the full benefit and to really see an improvement.

Since this is a new addition to my list of services and I want to get some practice in, I will be offering a pack of 10 cosmetic acupuncture treatments at HALF OFF to the first 5 people who sign up for it. I will be offering these for $120 per session, so 10 sessions at half off is $600 total. You guys, Iā€™ve seen other practitioners offering a SINGLE session for over $200, so this is an absolute STEAL.

The only thing I ask in return is that you be ok with me taking before and after pictures to share results and that you have availability to come in on Tuesdays for the 10 treatments.

If youā€™re interested, shoot me a DM, or call/text 480-712-7032. I anticipate the 5 spots will fill up FAST. All sessions will include facial acupuncture, cupping, guasha and massage. A wonderful treatment for yourself. šŸ¤—

Post continued in comments- see below for contraindications. šŸ‘‡

06/08/2023

Happy Thursday! I have been absent from social lately, so I first wanted to say thank you to everybody who reached out during my celebratory June post last week. šŸ¤—

I have missed my Wellness Wednesday posts for the past few weeks because both Path of Wellness and I (I mean really, we are one and the same šŸ˜‚) have been under construction, in more ways than one.

I just finished going through another round of internal and external dragon treatments šŸ‰. If youā€™ve never heard me talk about this before, I did a Wellness Wednesday post about it back in April. These are basically potent trauma releasing type treatments that really help you resolve your issues in a profound way.

I believe Iā€™ve done around 4 or 5 rounds of the dragons on myself over the years, and every time I do it the treatments peel back even more layers for healing. And this most recent round of it has been an absolute doozy. Like hyper intense healing I didnā€™t even know I needed (and a lot of it I think I was healing for other people as well ).

So long story short, I have been going through a major transformation that is going to impact my business in some ways, but should all be for the better. I have been feeling greatly called to revive my podcast, while also stepping away from working exclusively with moms (donā€™t worry, moms are still a huge part of my practice, but they wonā€™t be my sole focus, as was the case when I was putting together Sacred Mamas).

Iā€™m also finishing up some continuing education to add a couple of extra services to my practice which Iā€™m super excited about. And Iā€™m going to be really making my practice more comprehensive and combining all of the skills Iā€™ve acquired over the years to make it an extra thorough and more healing experience for everyone.

Iā€™ll post more soon, but thanks to all my followers for being here while I figure my life out (because thatā€™s what the dragons force you to do šŸ˜‚).

06/01/2023

Happy June! IMO, June is one of the best months of the year, because for me itā€™s a month of milestones.

Itā€™s my birth month (bonus points if you can guess how old Iā€™m turning šŸ˜‰), I have officially had my acupuncture license for 9 (NINE!!) years now and Path of Wellness turns 4!

I had already been working as a community acupuncturist for 5 years before I decided to take the plunge into private practice in 2019 when my daughter was only 4 months old (and her mom was hardcore in the birth trauma fog still).

My postpartum brain had zero business plans other than I knew I was tired of working for other people and not being able to practice in the way that I wanted to that was uniquely me. I was also pretty burnt out from doing community style acupuncture and seeing 30 plus people per shift. I was really missing a slower, more 1-1 type of practice.

So Path of Wellness was born and in a way it has been like having 2 kids at the same time.

The business has gone through many iterations since its creation as I have grown and evolved. Iā€™ve tried lots of different things, created courses that never actually saw the light of day, moved offices several times, and the one constant through all of it has been the practice itself and the people that make it up.

June always feels like a time for me to shake things up with so many personal milestones, and my practice is not exempt from that. I have some cool continuing education Iā€™ve been finishing up that will bring fun new offerings to the office. Iā€™m hoping to bring a renewed and refreshed energy for this upcoming 5th year in private practice and am excited to share it all with you in the coming weeks.

Thank you to all the lovely people who have made Path of Wellness what it is. I literally could not have done it without you. šŸ¤—

Iā€™m so excited to share this testimonial with you all this Tuesday.

For those who donā€™t know, it was my own struggle with anxiety that led me to discovering acupuncture in my early 20s. I wanted to do anything I possibly could to avoid having to take Xanax and I tried acupuncture on a whim and what do you know, it worked!

And not just worked, but worked so well it also resolved other issues I was having and completely blew my mind. I couldnā€™t wrap my mind around how being poked with tiny needles could make me feel so much better, and I just knew that I had to learn all about this new magical thing I had discovered so that I could share it with others.

And the rest is history!

And now all these years later I still get chills to get results like this with others. I love love love getting to share the magic of acupuncture to help people reclaim their lives and do the things that bring them joy.

If you or somebody you know is suffering with anxiety, Iā€™ve got points for that and can absolutely help! If youā€™re ready to reclaim your life and live anxiety-free, click the link in bio to schedule now. I also offer totally free discovery calls to see if acupuncture is a good fit for you. šŸ¤—

So Iā€™ve been talking about this Sacred Mamas thing all week and am starting to get some questions about it, mainly people wondering what it actually is! Hopefully this post clears some of it up for ya.

Sacred Mamas Rise is an 8 week course designed for moms who are feeling overwhelmed, resentful of their families and who have become lost in motherhood. Through the process of going through the program, they will come out the other side feeling whole, happy and like they got their mama mojo back.

The program is set up to include a safe and supportive container of other moms who will be cheering you on as you go through this journey and who also get what the struggle is like.

The program is being led by Nicole Berrios, a licensed acupuncturist and shamanic practitioner who will guide you through the shadows and help you reclaim your mojo on the other side (this is basically what a shaman does).

If youā€™ve been feeling like something is missing in your life as a mom, this could be the answer youā€™ve been looking for. Join us as we go on this magical journey to rediscover ourselves as women and not just as moms, to reclaim some of our time, to remember what brings us joy and to feel safe enough to pursue the things we want to pursue for no other reason that because we WANT to.

Link in bio has all the info. See you inside the program!
