Please welcome Kathryn Baldwin - who has been named General Manager of Gold Dust.

Kathryn comes from 25 years of lab ownership in New Mexico. She began her career in the dental lab industry as a model technician and worked her way through all the processes in the laboratory spending many years as a ceramist/owner. Kathryn spent years working diligently to increase her skills in all aspects of the laboratory. Kathryn spent several years working for the largest dental lab network group and brings with her many skills regarding efficiencies and quality standards.

She has been a technician, a manager and an owner she combines the best of all worlds here for us at Gold Dust today, bringing a unique level of understanding to the position of General Manager. She started in dental laboratory technology at 19 years of age and knew this was where her heart was. After a visit from a woman in her late 80s who came to the lab to thank her for “her new smile, she had waited her entire life for”, the woman’s tears flowed from joy and Kathryn knew she had found her calling.

Kathryn brings a fresh new perspective to Gold Dust with an eye on the future and an admiration for the past. Her door is always open to valued clients and new doctors alike. Her ability to problem solve, case plan, and support a doctor's vision is a huge asset. Her refreshing team spirit and positivity are inspiring, and motivating the team to new heights here at Gold Dust Dental Lab.

Tomorrow we will honor the life of an extended member of the Gold Dust family - Simone, wife of Joost Jorna. To simply meet her, was to fall in love with her radiant positivity and joy. We will be out for a time tomorrow morning - -and back to serve our valued clients tomorrow afternoon.

Simone Suzanne Jorna – Lenstra, passed away peacefully on November 24th at the age of 44 after a courageous battle with cancer. Simone is survived by her husband Joost Jorna of 21 years, son Lars and daughter Celeste. Simone was born in Meppel, the Netherlands where she grew up until she and her family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in December of 2016.

Simone was a natural beauty with effortless style and grace. Simone loved to travel and embraced the cultures of the many countries she visited. One of the first holidays she and Joost enjoyed together in America was to San Diego where they have engaged 21 years ago. Simone embraced San Diego as “where it all began” for her and Joost as a couple, and this past summer, they traveled there again for what turned out to be a very special holiday as a family.

Simone always radiated light and positive energy to everyone around her. Her magnetic smile and embracing brown eyes made it easy for those she encountered to no longer be strangers, but instead new friends.

The simplest pleasures in life, such as traveling, a nice dinner with friends, or being at the gym brought the greatest joy to Simone. Above that was her love and devotion to her family, Joost, Lars, and Celeste. The family bond of love and respect that Simone instilled into her family will continue to carry on in her honor.

The best way to honor Simone’s memory is by living your life to the fullest: Say what is in your heart, act on your impulse to be kind and live with no regrets….

Thank you Simone for being the wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who enriched our lives and through your love taught us how to love back.

You will forever be missed.

A celebration of life service for Simone Jorna will be held on December 1st at 10 AM in Scottsdale, AZ at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 E Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254

If you can’t make it to the service it will also be live-streamed.
