You know what I find fascinating? Texas Independence Day came about because the people revolted against a dictator, yet a man who says he will be a dictator is dominating the Republican primary for the presidency. 🙃🤔

This is not my first time attending a PPC (Poor People's Campaign) event. The name might sound odd if you don't realize who they represent. They represent all of us who are working, struggling and needing better. We are tired of having a boot on our neck and our voices silenced. One of the biggest struggles of my candidacy is that I'm still working full time and solo parenting a fantastic human.

I am not independently wealthy, you can easily look up my campaign finances. I'm funded by people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. If that's YOU, please donate. The ONLY way change will come is if we stand together and say enough is enough. We must stand together and hold elected officials accountable. WE HAVE TO VOTE. There is NO WAY around it. We must take back the mic from extremists who don't care about our lives. If one of us isn't free, none of us are free.

Today, we stand together to raise awareness and prioritize our youth's mental health and well-being. Adolescence can be a challenging journey, and we must create a supportive and understanding environment for our teens. Let's encourage open conversations, break stigmas, and foster a culture where seeking help is a sign of strength 💙.

Our women's day center, The Well, is in need of all sizes of undergarments, (tops and bottoms) to give out to ladies here. On a personal note...this little guy sat through the entire meeting (just over 2 hours) after coming straight from a long day at school (mom had to stay late for planning). Thank goodness for the pizza the City of Temple, Texas - City Government provided! When he wasn't munching on endless slices of pepperoni pizza, he was quietly snuggled up with me, listening and learning. We left the house at 6:30AM and didn't get home for the evening until after 8:30pm. Not many 7 year olds have that level of endurance and I don't know how he does it, but I am grateful he can. I absolutely couldn't do this without him.

Thank you Dr. Zoe Grant and the City of Temple, Texas - City Government for providing pertinent updates and information on the outstanding growth and development of District 2 here in Temple! Terris Goodwin For Bell Co. Commissioner and I learned so much from the presentations and had a wonderful opportunity to speak with fellow residents about their concerns, interests and needs. Looking forward to learning and listening more! It's time the folks of east Temple had some real representation!

At the end of the day, Texas has become a state that requires a travel warning because people didn't get out and vote. It is assumed that Bell county is red simply because the majority of our elected officials at all levels are Republicans. Truth is, we've been red because Democrats just aren't showing up to the polls. Folks, it is NOT hopeless here! If you're sitting back wondering how red states have been able to pass some of the most bigoted, hateful and downright evil legislation we've seen in decades, it's because they convinced large groups of us that our vote doesn't matter.

You have to vote. That's it. If you want something different, you have to do something different. Get out and vote in the Democratic primary and then again in the General election. We can flip Bell County THIS election cycle. If you have Republican friends who are on the fence, talk to them about the Democratic candidates you support and why. Same with friends who aren't sure either way.
