Voice of the neglect and abused children of the Wabash Valley while traveling through juvenile court proceedings.
CASA is an acronnym for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA's are specially trained community volunteers that are appointed by a judge to serve children entering the welfare system due to neglect and/or abuse by their caregivers. Today was a special day for Vigo County CASA as we celebrated our Ernie who left us to soon earlier this year by attending his annual BBQ held in his memory. We were honored to be there and represent something he put his whole heart into for the children of this community. You may be gone Ernie but your light still shines.
Tough times as a child can cause major problems into adulthood. But if someone is there to help navigate those times, a child can go on to achieve awesome things. Become a CASA and help change a child's story!
