Today is the day we have all been waiting for!! 🎄

Here is the map of all things Light Up Thomaston 2023! Be sure to save this to your phone to look at later. We will also have this printed near Santa’s line at the wood carver and at town hall.

We will be in the Lena Morton Gallery starting at 10am for the festival of trees. Come get your tickets early. We have over 50 trees/baskets/wreaths this year!! *we cannot guarantee that we will have all items before 2pm*

The street will close promptly at 5pm so plan accordingly. Parade kicks off at 5:45pm with amazing floats and vehicles from our businesses in town.

Thomaston Light Up The Town 2023

Light Up The Town is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023.

The downtown Main Street area will be closed to all vehicular traffic shortly after 5PM.

No parking on Main Street or within the downtown closure area after 5PM. Any vehicles parked on the street within the closure area must be removed by 5PM or are subject to tow.

The parade led by Santa is scheduled to step off at 5:45PM, beginning on South Main Street at Maple Street, and will proceed to the gazebo.

Residents and businesses within the closure area (ie: Main Street Plaza) should be aware that no vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the closure area once the event has begun. Patrons that expect to leave before the event is over should park outside the closure area.

Road Closures:
-Main Street
-East Main Street from Electric Avenue to Main Street.
-North Main Street from Williams Street to Main Street
-Union Street - Closed after the bank parking lots to Main Street
-Clay Street - Closed at Thomas Avenue to Main Street
-High Street - Closed at Thomas Avenue to Main Street
-Park Street - Closed from the parking lot entrance to Main Street (Park Street residents use access off Elm Street)

Detours:
-Traffic on East Main Street will be detoured to Elm Street or Electric Avenue.
-Traffic on North Main Street will be detoured to Electric Avenue or Williams Street.
-Traffic on South Main Street will be detoured to Elm Street or Grand Street.
-Access to Clay Street/High Street area and points North will be from South Main Street to Grand Street to Grove Street, or from North Main Street to Williams Street into the web area.

Available parking lots: Webster Bank, Thomaston Savings Bank, Adam's IGA, Thomaston Center School, Town Hall, or the Seth Thomas Complex off Elm Street.

No parking in Seabourne & Malley’s lot next to JDT’s due to the TFD bonfire.

First Aid Station will be at the Thomaston Ambulance posted on Park Street.

All streets will reopen once clean up is complete at approximately 9pm.

Tree drop off today from 11am to 2pm in the Lena Morton Gallery. If you cannot make it, please give us a call or send a message and we will pick it up!

Tomorrow: We will be in the Lena Morton Gallery from 10am to 2pm for tree drop off and then for early ticket sales. You can purchase tickets early for the festival of trees to avoid long lines during the event. Please note that we cannot guarantee that all trees will be dropped off before 2pm Saturday.

We just learned that the Lena Morton Gallery was double booked tonight. We will be in the crescent gallery for those who want to drop off trees tonight. Please come between 6:30pm and 8pm. Thanks to our friends at Spruce Hill Farm right here in Thomaston for their yearly donation of the tree for the gazebo.

Did you know that the tree used to be put up at the top of the Opera House?

Shop local and check out Spruce Hill Farm this year for your Christmas tree! Open on 11/24/23!

Light up Thomaston 2023! Parade starts at 5:45pm.

🎄New this year: we will have a couple of directories posted near Santa’s line and Town Hall. Please look here to see all of the vendors and events going on the night of. It will also be posted on social media the day of.

A few important things to remember for the night of the event:
1. Everything is free! Light Up is run by a group of 10-12 volunteers and supported by the local businesses and generous donations in town.
2. Parking is on side streets and parking lots surrounding Main Street. NO PARKING ON MAIN STREET PERMITTED. If you are parked on Main Street after 5:30 pm you will NOT be allowed to move your car until the streets are cleared and reopened, after 8:30.
3. No dogs allowed.
4. Please use the provided trash cans for any garbage, help keep our town clean!
5. Festival of Trees ends promptly at 8PM, we will do our best to call winners by 9PM that night.
6. Santa’s Line will close at 8PM. Anyone already in line will still get to see Santa.
7. We will be collecting items for the Thomaston Food Pantry outside of Adams and Town Hall. Please bring one non perishable food item.
8. Please do not play with any equipment, such as microphones, speakers ect. All the equipment used is property of our entertainers or lent to Light Up by people who live in town.
9. Public bathrooms are located in Town Hall.

We are pleased to announce that we have Light Up Thomaston merch this year. All of the proceeds from the sales serve as a donation to support the Light up Thomaston fund to keep the lights on and festivities going.
