The Rotary Club of Thomaston is pleased to announce this yearโs Citizen of the Year.
Mary Beth Johnson has been selected as the 40th citizen to be honored by the Rotary Club as this yearโs Distinguished Citizen for her decades of selfless service to support and provide for the viability of the Thomaston community.
A banquet in Mary Bethโs honor will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, 6:00pm Social, 6:30pm Buffet Dinner at The Grand Oak Villa, 550 Sylvan Lake Road, Oakville, CT.
The criteria for this award: individuals who have donated numerous hours for an extended period, not for recognition or remuneration rather to benefit others and the Thomaston Community.
Mary Beth has offered her time, talents, and treasures to support a multitude of events, fundraisers, boards and committees. The Rotary Club of Thomaston, a 501-C-3 organization, actively supports the communityโs needs with itsโ Fuel Fund, Crisis Fund, Community Grants, as well as the Scholarship Fund which this eventโs proceeds will directly benefit. Each year the Rotary Club of Thomaston awards over $15,000 in scholarship to students of Thomaston. This yearโs scholarships will be awarded in honor of Mary Beth.
