CNC Lathe Machinist – Night Shift

Classification - Hourly non-exempt
Reports to - Department Supervisor

Located in Thomasville, NC, Xceldyne engineering and manufacturing facility is focused on creating highly technical, high-precision titanium, steel, and aluminum performance parts for professional racing engines like NASCAR, Indy, Rally, Formula 1, and others.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/objective
Primary responsibility is to produce precision racing components in a high-quality and fast paced environment.

Essential functions
• Initiates set-ups and operates CNC Lathe machinery
• Makes machine adjustments to ensure blueprint specifications are met
• Inspects each part to ensure quality and verifies to blueprints
• Follows all safety regulations and maintains a clean work environment
• Meets daily production requirements
• Communicates well with Team Leads regarding issues related to job travelers, tooling, programs, and maintenance

Requirements
• Work environment demands an individual who has a strong attendance record, values punctuality and reliability
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
• Read and understand engineered drawings to meet strict manufacturing tolerances
• Familiar with FANUC, Okuma, HAAS, Mori Seiki and/or Mazitrol controls
• Mechanically inclined, possessing basic math skills
Preferred
• Graduate from CNC Machining Program or 2 years of relevant lathe machining experience
Physical demands and work environment:
Ability to verbally communicate basic job-related information face to face in English. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds 10 times per day. Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, bending at the waist, lifting above the head, reaching and pulling.

Wow has it been hot in North Carolina this week! Xceldyne employees tried to "Beat the Heat" with some ice cream! They also tried to beat each other for the most valve boxes folded. Who says you can't have fun at work?! Check out the brief video...
