With this cold, windy, Southern California weather, here are some tips to help you through it😊
•
1) Rosemary Oil has been proven to help promote hair growth. This has been something I’ve been doing on my own hair for a few months and can already see the results from it. Not only does this promote growth, this also helps add moisture to and protection to your scalp in the colder weather. You’ll notice your scalp being less flakey, itchy, and will not make your scalp oily. As long as it is all washed out, you notice and feel a difference. I mix about a tablespoon of castor oil with 20-25 drops of the rosemary oil. Apply to scalp and massage in. Let this sit for as long as you can, whether a few hours or overnight. ( I will say castor oil is very thick so personally I do not sleep with it in.) Wash your hair at least 2 times, condition as usual! Trust me your scalp will love it!!

2) Our ends need all the help that we can give them!! The ends of our hair are the furthest away from our natural oils from our scalp, leading them to need a little extra hydration. When we’re washing our hair, all the build up and sweat is sitting on our scalp, not our ends. If we scrub our ends when we’re shampooing, we are just contributing to the dryness and brittle feeling that happens to our ends! Sounds silly but I think a lot of people are unaware that we really don’t need to scrub our ends!! Focus on scrubbing and cleaning your scalp and only condition your ends. This will give them moisture, shine and hydration!! When you make this little change when washing your hair, the change won’t go unnoticed!

3) Satin or silk pillow cases are going to be your best friend! This is one of my favorite switches that I’ve done for my self and my clients as well!! These pillow cases are gentle on your hair and skin. Normal cotton pillow cases can cause more damage to our hair than we think. Not only can they cause breakage, they also can lead to fizz. Satin or silk pillow cases keep you cool, don’t cause damage, helps maintain frizz while you sleep, and much more! This simple at home switch will make quite the difference in the long run!
