We are members of the Japanese American Citizens League (Ventura County chapter). We do social activities and service projects
Our chapter is one of many chapters that comprise the Japanese American Citizens League. Our chapter primarily focuses on education, networking with those interested in Japanese and JA culture and awarding scholarships to students of Japanese descent who live in our county.

Japanese discount retailer Daiso to open near Oxnard Auto Center in September Daiso, a Japanese discount retailer, is set to open Sept. 7 near the Oxnard Auto Center off Highway 101.

The 2023 Crop & Livestock Report was released today, July 24, showing Ventura County had a better year than before and crops are still King of the local economy. Strawberries first (duh!), Nursery Stock second, Lemons third and Avocados in the Top 10. Thanks to all our growers and Agricultural Commissioner Korrine Bell for a successful, and a great report!

It's a wrap! The Ventura County JACL's 2024 Asian American Film Festival is done. Yesterday's program had over 50 people attending! Thanks to Visual Communications, Mallorie Ortega, Charleen Morla, the Filipino American Council of Ventura County and the Oxnard Public Library. We worked with the Oxnard Middle College High School students who raised money for their Asian American Club.
Thanks to our VC JACL members, Akemi Ketchum, Jo Ann Van Reenan, Samantha Willis, Lily Anne Lily Anne Yumi Welty-Tamai and many others who helped make this Film Festival possible. Hope to bring it back to our community next year!
