Post 5250 - Present & Accounted for! Yep! Another great day out in Tifton, Ga. Tractor Supply Asst. Manager Jim Smithey said "Ya'll come back and visit with us." We had a good time in fellowship with the hometown crowd. Educating others on the history of the Buddy Poppy. Giving information out to Veterans about their benefits through the VFW. We gained a Life Time member today, Kenneth Werho and made loads of contacts for the Auxiliary. Given opportunity to explain what our group as a whole stands for and the Legislative means we , in our totality , have in changing things for our brothers & sisters. Remember Tifton, "No one does more for Veterans" than YOUR VFW.

On Monday, February 20th, 2023 - Post 5250, Tifton, Ga - Commander: Paul Green & Aux President: Jean Green, met up with Tiftonarea Community Food Bank at 409 W. 17th Street. POC, Timothy "Tim" Wilson. Food Bank President: Marilyn Scott & Vic President:Vera Bundy were not on hand this time, but the VFW & Auxiliary are looking forward to many more deliveries to help our communities. Garland Anderson VFW & Auxiliary have been working toward this moment for a few weeks.

Reminder, the VFW is doing a recruitment drive and the Auxiliary are supporting a community blood drive with One Blood on March 18, 2023 located at the 410 Victory Drive, Tifton, Ga. "VFW Post 5250"

News from VFW Post 5250 & the VFW Auxiliary, this week!! Commander Paul Green gathered volunteers at 410 Victory Drive, Tifton, Ga on Saturday December 10, 2022 to break bread with the 381st Engineer Support Company , located at 212 Victory Dr., Tifton, Ga. There were eighty Army reservist present.
The VFW & VFW Auxiliary members enjoyed fellowship with these young soldiers and extended a hand of fellowship.

QuarterMaster Jason Dinkins offered information about the endeavors of the VFW and the VFW Auxiliary. We at your local VFW are committed to helping veterans and their families. As Combat Veterans we understand deployment and all its phases, we have troop support programs ready to assist. VSO Chad Hawsey was on hand to help guide three combat Veterans through paperwork that included VA eligibility, burial rights and placing VA claims.

Post 5250 would like to start recognizing, monthly, the brave men and women that have served our great country. They do not need to be from the Tifton area, so if you have a Veteran you would like to highlight or know someone that would like a friend or family member recognized, simply send an email to [email protected] and attach pictures or documents and a short description of the Veteran.

To start off, we would like to recognize John Gainous from Cairo, Ga. He was a prisoner of war of the Japanese Government during WW2. He was also on the Bataan Death March in the Philippines. His family stated when he returned home he weighed less than 85lbs.
