Job responsibilities:
Greet incoming and departing guests
Seat guests in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference
Assign tables to servers
Prepare the dining room for reservations
Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables
Able to work weekends and holidays

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities include:

* Ensuring guests are satisfied with dining experience

* Taking food and beverage orders

* Answering menu and beverage questions

* Side work for shift start and end

We have an opening for a cook in our newly renovated kitchen.

Requirements
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Food safety certified

- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Reliable transportation

This is a kitchen position where you will be responsible for the smooth flow of orders and efficient delivery of service in preparing dishes for delivery. A key element of this role is to ascertain that each staff member receives the proper orders.

Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. You will be responsible for:
o Wash dishes, flatware, pots and pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
o Keep dishwasher clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problems to the General Manager.
o Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
o Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
o Place clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in storage areas.
o Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room, lounge and kitchen.
o Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
o Sort and remove trash placing it in designated pickup areas
o Sweep and wash floors
o Clean food preparation and production areas as required
o Clean garbage cans
o Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
o Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
o Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
o Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

In compliance with guidelines set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health and to provide the highest degree of transparency, we are informing our community that a team member at our restaurant has tested positive for Coronavirus. The team member remained at home when underlying symptoms were displayed.

We are cleared to resume operations as normal. Out of an abundance of caution we will be closed Thursday, October 22 in order to sanitize and for testing. We may close additional days if necessary for the well-being of all.

Barcellos will exceed all precautions to ensure the safety of our team and guests which include:
- The team member will not be permitted to return to work until meeting all Rhode Island Department of Health guidelines.
- Identifying close contacts following the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention guidelines of someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24 hour period. Any team members who are symptomatic but have not been tested will not be permitted to work.
- We will continue our rigorous cleaning and sanitizing program of the entire restaurant before, during and after hours of operation. In addition, our team members will continue to use face coverings, maintain social distancing, conduct temperature checks and follow all Rhode Island Department of Health guidelines.

Our community and team members continued health and wellness is a top priority and we will do everything in our control to make Barcellos the safest customer experience possible.
