Our mom, Connie Bruno Martin passed away on Monday at the young age of 99. She was such an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend and was an inspiration to many with a smile and spirit that lifted everyone around her.

We miss you so much mom; words cannot describe.

I know you guys have been waiting patiently and now it’s here. From today to Saturday we will have “King Olive” on the menu. It’s our version of a Muffuletta. We take our house made Olive Salad made with Kalamata and Castelvetrano olives, Monteleone Peppers, load Boar's Head Genoa Salami and Tavern Ham, add some Mortadella and Mozzarella onto one of our hand rolled Italian Rolls. It’s a delicious rendition of the New Orleans favorite. Come try it today or have some Zeitman’s Grocery Store Pastrami or Corned Beef while it lasts.

Finally cranking out some pizzas in our wonderful new brick oven. Up to about 850 degrees at the top of the dome. This forno is a beast and the pizza is oh so deliziosa!

Brick and mortar still curing and will soon be ready for la pizza napoletana (or our attempt of such a feat) and of course, pizza calabrese with Monteleone Hot Peppers! . -stone-ovens

Brick oven baking is back at La Casa di Monteleone (aka the Martin House). Putting final layers of insulation on and then stucco. Then on to 90 second pizzas (hopefully) and lots of roasting and baking.

Another soon to be fan favorite; Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gnocchi with sautéed spinach and Swiss chard and of course, Monteleone Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Peppers. Thank you RJ in NC for this fabulous recipe!!!
