My first completed sock on the . I totally botched the Kitchener stitch, but in hindsight I will use brighter colored yarn to see better. I used two dark colors and it made it hard to see. But I’m getting there.

day 9: New Year Cast On. Going from one campaign to another, I haven’t made a sweater is quite some time. I decided to cast on No Frills by as a very simple project.

Day 2: Project 2023. I’m continuing to navigate how to run a small business with my new role. I’ve paired down my colorways and hope customers will understand new processing times. I’m excited that I can still dye yarn and embark on this new adventure.

Day 1: Hi! My name is Michele and I’m the person behind Misfit Yarns. I’ve been operating Misfit Yarns since 2007 in some capacity or another. I’m excited to bring my unique style to your yarn stash.

In my non-yarn life, I am an Ohio State Representative serving my first term. Before my election to the State House, I was on Toledo City Council for one year. I’m excited about being a public servant and to do good in government.

Because of my new role, I’ve had to scale my business back a bit, but I’m operating as best as I can. Thank you for your support!

I also want to remind folks that often the yarn you receive won’t look exactly like the picture shown. Hand dyed yarn is a handmade product. There are always variations of the yarn and no two are alike. I seem to be getting some customers who don’t understand this. I have a full explanation on the policies on my website and Etsy store, but it’s frustrating to get a lesser review when it doesn’t fully match a photo. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk!

Here’s what it’s doing. This happened after the heel turn. It’s done it a few times since and seems to be around the same place (the heel turn). I’m trying to give it more tension with my hand to get through this sock. This is my very first full sock on the machine so I’m trying to remember to patient in learning new things ☺️

Question for CSM knitters - once in a while I’ll crank a tube and it’s going smoothly until I get a long bar of dropped stitches. Tension seemed fine since I had about 50 or so rows but all of a sudden I have several dropped stitches. Those seem really hard to fix. I just ripped out a sock turning the heel because of it. What’s going on? Suggestions?
