Life has been chaotic and honestly I dont know how I wouldve done it without my husband.
This entire postpartum has been brutal tbh and so hard specially with the business.
We lost all of our employees when we basically needed them the most right when I was due to give birth so we had to bake, decorate and deliver a three tier wedding cake 5 days postpartum and this man was next to me, cleaning my tears, taking care of our babies, driving me to deliver this cake. One of the most stressful experiences of my life.
We made the desicion to prioritize our family and close the brick and mortar, and even thought I’m so happy we did it, the desicion itself and the process was a nightmare, from stolen recipes, copy cats, bills after bills, everything that also comes with closing a business, all of this while literally having a baby, so add hormones, body change, sleep deprivation, pain, etc.
It’s been an insane 4 months, life has taken a turn that we were not ready for, its been extremely hard on me and on my family, I’ve cried making probably 85% of the cakes in the last 4 months, We are sleep deprived and we are still adjusting to our new life.
But despite all of this, I feel so blessed to have Mario as my partner and Im so grateful for him and everything he does for us, every single sacrifice he has made to see me thrive and every single time he is the one picking up my pieces when I crumble down🩷
I also feel extremely grateful for all of our customers that keep on supporting our online bakery and that keep showing up. I dont think any of you really understand how much it means to me every single order, specially repeated customers.
I am tired, but Im so grateful and finally seeing light at the end of the tunel. I have many new ideas for Sweet Em’s and in time and little by little I cant wait to bring them to life.
Remember, I am human, and a one girl show, I make mistakes too, but Im always willing to fix them and I appreciate more than anything the customers that have given me second chances after a mistake.
