Quick life update!(also, how cute are these photos by ?)
My family and I moved from South Bay Los Angeles to Livermore, CA last summer. It wasn’t always in the plans, but after having two kids it became so clear that we missed having family around.
So we packed up our things and headed North where my husband grew up. Moving with two young kids is A LOT. New schools, doctors, friends, parks. A lot to figure out.
I also made the tough decision to transition to being a full time mom and put a pause on seeing patients until we got the girls transitioned to their schools. This was a tough transition for me and I missed the creativity and connection I got from running Grow Well and helping families.
Fast forward to now and I am happy to say that we are absolutely loving Livermore. The people, the trees, the nature, the wineries! (Fun fact: Livermore has 50+ wineries!)
So needless to say, I am so happy to be slowly transitioning my practice back into operating mode. My youngest is still not in school full time so I’m only able to accept a small number of patients and consults at this time, but I am so happy to be back!
If you are new to my page, have a baby or are expecting, please feel free to reach out to me with any concerns you may have, or questions or topics you’re looking to learn more about).
Currently experiencing all the feels. I will miss my South Bay families so so much.
It will take me some time to get my family transitioned but please keep your eyes out for more educational content and offers to help you support your little ones.
I am so excited to explore the city of and the Bay Area, with the intent to offer in-person therapy when the time is right.
South Bay, you will always have my heart!
Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions and I will be happy to provide support and guidance any way I can.
2023 vibes all year long. =)

Happy holidays from my little family to yours! ❤️
“My baby is so young, is it too early to start?”—I hear this question a lot.
With most things, but especially with torticollis, the earlier you get started with intervention, the better the outcomes, and the less PT your child will likely need overall.
Remember, every child is different and the numbers above are not an absolute rule.

These words have meant a lot recently. In life. In motherhood. In providing care. In business.
The also make me think of all the parents and families who join in on the PT process to help get their child(ren) the support they need to thrive.
Thank you for growing with me. ♥️

Things. Have. To. Change.
This account will always be about helping parents support their children to “Grow Well.”
Part of growing well means not living in constant fear of being gunned down.
Here are some accounts doing work to educate and take action:
Also, very actionable things you can do today in story.
It’s SO hard not to give that sweet baby everything he or she wants when you’re a big.
But teaching siblings to challenge baby can be a fun and great way to sneak some motor development opportunities into the day, because let’s face it, if you have multiples, you are strapped on time.
💡 4-6 months: Allow baby to reach for items just slightly out of reach
💡 6-8 months: Place toys in front of baby when on tummy and see if 👶will work a bit to get it!

Each Wednesday for the next 4 weeks Katie and I will be talking about the first year postpartum. Teaching you how to support your body and how to encourage your child’s motor development.
This Wednesday, April 13 at 7:30 PM Pacific we will be discussing the first six weeks after birth.
Dr. Katie, will cover immediate recovery from a vaginal and cesarean birth as well as safe exercises for the first six weeks.
I will be going over importance of tummy time and some tips and tricks to set it up for your brand-new baby, as well as some things you can do to prevent common neck and head shape issues.
so put that baby down or bring them along grab some tea or a glass of wine and join us this Wednesday!
Tummy time gets a ton of glory for it's role in setting the stage for motor development;
📢but, did you know:
it is also super important for breastfeeding and digestion?
Nailing down a good tummy time routine, positioning your babe can tolerate, and fostering that floor time connection is a crucial part of development.
If your baby is just not feeling tummy time feel free to reach out. I'm happy to answer generic questions and I love working with babies and parents (via in person and virtual consultation) to fight the tummy time blues.
🙋♀️ Question for my mamas:
If you have had a baby or babies were you educated on this topic?
With an incidence rate almost as high as 50% I feel strongly that all new and expecting parents need to know about this condition, the risk factors, and their options.
Let me get on my 🧼 📦:
The earlier it is detected and addressed the faster, easier, and less 💵 it is to change.
📣 spread the word!
Share this post with a new or expecting mama ❤️
And stay tuned for a word on things you can do for prevention.
That’s almost half of all babies! 😲
Today is National Plagiocephaly & Torticollis Awareness Day. These are two increasingly common conditions that I have personally become fascinated with as a medical provider these last few years.
These next 2-3 weeks, take a deep dive with me as we look at these conditions in detail with a focus on what you need to know as a new parent and when and where to get help.
As you can see above, Plagiocephaly is quite common in our babes and its something that is not readily discussed with new and expecting parents.
Stay tuned in the next 2-3 weeks and we’ll get into it.

There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding milestones lately!
I got the honor of collaborating with Brita - one of my favorite Pediatric PT IG accounts.
We put together some of our thoughts and worries surrounding these new changes.
Ultimately, our primary concern comes down to making sure kids are getting access to the care they need early, and we are more than happy to spread this word and help parents advocate for their little ones.

Infant massage is a great way to not only bond with your baby, but it also has tons of benefits when it comes to digestion, sleep, stress, and sensorimotor development.

Get that sweet baby on your chest from Day 1.
Tummy time can be intimidating at first, but it doesn’t have to be.
❤️Get that sweet baby on your chest during wake times.
This is also a great way to facilitate partner or family bonding time and let mama rest too!
Not medical advice—please discuss all concerns with your and your baby’s licensed medical provider.
Anybody want to fill me in on why the CDC continues to leave off any mobility on the tummy? Creeping? Crawling? 😫😫😫
As a PT and a mom I love recommending purposeful play activities to allow parents to connect with their child(ren) and help encourage good quality movement skills. But, parents are not drill sergeants and milestones are not a race.
So often are we ready to push our children to the next stage. Taking time to sit back, breathe, observe your child, and stay out of their way is important work and invaluable to your baby’s learning.
Note: Sometimes our little friends do need a boost or professional intervention. Maintaining a strong relationship with your child's medical providers 👨⚕️👩⚕️ and trusting your gut are crucial.
Here are 3 things to keep your eye on:
☑️Milestones: Realizing there is a HUGE range of what is considered "typical", keeping a watchful 👁 on your baby’s development is 🔑.
I love pathways.org for all things milestones.
☑️Quality of movement: Skills once developed should look smooth and symmetrical. If things are very one-sided (ie, only rolling to one side or reaching with one arm only) it is a good idea to get some eyes 👀 on that!
☑️Progression of skills: Development is not linear, but over a span of a few months your baby should be demonstrating more and more abilities.
Whatever your concerns may be, please know that there is no harm is seeking help from the right providers.
Am I wrong?
When you become a mom it seems like everyone has something to say. Good or bad, there’s a lot of noise, especially on social media.
I say this in full recognition that I am adding to this noise. So I just want to throw the reminder out there how important it is to follow what serves and energizes you.
Tagging some of my most favorite mom accounts below (it’s ok if you disagree):
