U Pay I Slay

Most of y’all know my struggle with Tellogen Effluvium as I’ve been very transparent. Pregnancy, grief and medical issues have caused my body to live in a constant state of stress and my hair has become a casualty because of it. Last year I had weight loss surgery and it out the icing on the cake, I went from breakage and excess shedding to clumps of hair in the bottom of the tub when I washed my hair.

I’ve done/tried a number of things to reverse my hair loss as well as have tests run by my dr to see if I had any deficiencies which I do not.

I’ve tried different shampoos, hair supplements etc and nothing helped.

I’ve decided to go back to what I know and here’s what’s been working so far:

1. I only use shampoo every 6-8 weeks. My hair is naturally dry and I have low porosity. Co washing works best for me.
2. I only blow dry my hair for heat styling , which I rarely do
3. I opt for styles that aren’t too heavy, or pull in anyway, for example knotless braids, twists, quick weaves
4. Every 2-3 days I apply my slay gro oil along with a leave in and microneedle my thin areas

And lastly, which I’ve always done, I drink my water, mind my business, and I take my bariatric multi and a bariatric hair skin and nails supplement ❤️

I post my story so those of you going through the same don’t have to.

My secret to my healthy silk presses. I love the consistency of this leave in, it’s super conditioning and moisturizing, but NON GREASY. The shine spray is Wet N Wavy Shimmer Spray, I use it as a heat protectant and gloss spray, I spray these both before blow drying. Gives amazing shine without weighing the hair down and making it greasy. And both smell BEAUTIFUL
