I wanted to share my epic adventure from yesterday’s Beach Streets! My friend and I took all our kids, collectively, to ride the streets to get to Broadway, where the event was. I had anxiety about letting my kids ride on the road (versus the sidewalk, which can be just as complicated in crowded places and parked cars because of cars coming in and out of driveway and hidden views) but they blew my mind. They were so naturally good. I made sure and told them to take the lane, because of all the parked cars alongside which we all know can be dooring hazards. We all try to navigate and do things in this world and when it comes to our precious cargo we want to of course take extra care for them and make sure they are safe and survive with us. I have met parents who say they will never let their kids ride a bike because it’s “too dangerous.” But i always ask and say what about walking, what about driving? Nothing guarantees 100% anything, and why let fear and peer pressure of dangerous drivers on the road and their behavior control or limit our own behavior we are trying to encourage as society? I grew up riding my bike everywhere as a kid, and it was (and still is) one of the most freeing experience that i attribute some of my independence to. As a parent, I really want my kids to have the same, which is the freedom to ride safely, freely, and peacefully. Thank you to my friend who did this with me and I also extend a big thanks to all the drivers who were patient during this 2 miles ride to Broadway on the streets. It trult takes a village!!!!!! And I love the city Long Beach for this amazing environment.

Davidson Bike Law LLP was VERY happy to be a sponsor of this event which had been canceled due to Covid and then the wild fires. Tonight was the last race of the First Series of 😉✨ racers of all varying categories came out in large numbers for some leg ripping and for some TACOS!! 🌮🌮 Proper celebration of bikes calls for proper food ✨🤌🤌 brought out some serious tacos for some serious racers and tamed the hangry bikers who after ripping each other’s legs off were ready to tear into food🌮 and LOTS of fresh agua fresca 🥤 Thank u to and for bringing the ElDo community together each year to make us not only stronger on bikes but STRONGER as humans. ElDo really builds character, and at the core are the junior racers and young racers and everyone builds around to allow all of us to grow as individuals and as a team/community!! This is what we are all about, and what we know cycling can do! Let’s continue to support the sport and the love for sport and let’s all have a safe, active, Super FUN summer ☀️ ✌️👊✨✨✨
Good Seeing and Riding with Everyone at the LAX Race today organized by .wanderlust with an amazing vision!!!!🙌 It’s amazing to have a race that supports our YOUTH, our FUTURE!! As a happy sponsor, hopes that especially the Junior Racers had a good time today sharpening their race skill knives and learning and exercising on their BIKES!!! The future is only bright as long as our youth is heathy and optimistic about their future, and to support that we want to continue to build on the sport of cycling to be MORE inclusive, MORE representative, MORE diverse which is what our YOUTH in our community embody!!! Keep smiling, Keep riding🔥🔥🔥💐💐💐 PS Those fresh flowers on the podium were 😮💨😮💨💖💖🫶🫶🫶🫶 without flowers it’s like… why r people raising their hands up like someone’s saying “stick em up!!!” on the podium😆😆😆 it’s good to see the origins of where the “raise ur hands” comes from!! ✌️💐💐💐= holding up the bouquet!! Can’t wait for next year💖👊💖
Just some thoughts about what i see often of people not being able to secure witnesses on the scene. Just bc you SEE law enforcement is talking with a potential witness, don’t ever assume it’s all going to be in the traffic collision report… I know, it’s crazy. But this is the reality.

Come talk to me. I’m a licensed CA attorney who actually rides bikes, and has successfully represented hundreds of cyclists… Before talking to your dog, your cat, your gf, your bf, your mom, your bestie, your “very knowledgeable cycling friend who knows exactly what to do” in your situation… Come talk to me first. And then decide if you really want to go “pro se.” Make an informed decision especially when making big decisions.

I get asked THIS sometimes 😿: "How can you do what you do, representing injured cyclists, and still... RIDE...?" The insinuation here is that riding SHOULD take me out of my "comfort zone."
It's actually a really good question👊!!
Here's MY answer: I RIDE, because I always rode my bike. I rode my bike around as a kid, to parks, to friend's places, bookstores, basically everywhere. When I was in school... In middle and high school and even college, I commuted to school on my bike. Now I'm a grown a** woman and I still ride... Because riding gives me FREEDOM. It also gives me EXERCISE. It also gives me JOY. Those things have always been 100% true for me.
We ride, because we're cyclists. I represent injured cyclists as a cyclist myself. As much as there is more we must do as the cycling community to make the environment better, aka, less violent and less lethal for the nonmotorized community, and that we cannot discount the ongoing trauma we face due to car violence in our society, RIDING in it of itself is transformation of this current environment. That's why we are contently part of it. 💯. Ride On. a message from
Nightriding 🌃🚲Clothes! 🎽👚This bomber jacket I purchased at SHEIN for about $12 bucks🤣 (they got expensive reflective wear at brands i won’t mention names here LOL but there r plenty affordable reflective gear on Shein, amazon, forever21😘 if u look around online shopping)… yup… it’s FULLY reflective. As one cyclist who rolled up tonight commented: “I thought you were a road sign… that is super reflective…!” Coupled with some bright lights reflective jackets like this make visibility Extra😎💯👌Be seen … cuz u know… we love the attention😘😘😘🤷♀️
“You talk the talk. But do you walk the walk, and ride the ride?” You know our answer!🚲🚲🚲A critical part of our commutes/transportation during the course of representation is case related bike riding. Yup. Cuz we’re attorneys who actually ride our bikes😉✌️😉✌️
Don’t just ask yourself… Ask US. We’ll tell you what we think… and know.
Pssssst…. This is sometimes still NOT common knowledge to MANY cyclists, believe it or not. Please help spread the word re: “max out ur UM/UIM” coverage… We get so many cases where our clients having UM/UIM coverage helped, SO SO SO much. You can never have too much UM/UIM coverage, really. You know what I mean. Max. It. Out.
Have a 🤩 fun weekend y’all! Some of y’all may be driving 🚘 to get to 🤩 fun places. But. Always. Remember. Low speed No bleed. Keep that gentle ❤️ heart ♥️ in u for our cycling and walking friends too 😉😉😉 Not speeding also protects urself and loved ones that are inside the car 🚘 So It’s a win-win for us ALL👏🙆♀️💯
